Dear 343,
What the hell happened? Even the sheer sight of reading all these changes makes me question whether or not I should even follow Waypoint anymore. Seriously.

The lack of these in Halo games is what makes me prefer Halo over other shooters. It’s funny how Bungie set the bar for first person shooters and coming up with their own original ideas and didn’t crossover to multiplayer of other main titles: GOW3, Battlefield, Call of Duty, and here we are 10 years later flatout copying what they do.
That isn’t a way to attract more gamers, unless your goal is to form an entirely different community. I have been an active member on Bungie.net since 2005 - spawn031 - and seeing the awesome communities that develop over the years is something that is just amazing. There are more people looking at these scans than people think.

Where is the competitive aspect of Halo 4? From everything I have read so far, we are just going further and further away from Halo’s roots. Nobody has played any games here, but as soon as I read that you rank up based on medals and “points”, that system is no different than Halo Reach. Do you even have to win games anymore? Everyone “could” have multiple armor abilities?
Sprint + Jetpack?
Sprint + Camo? + What …sword?
Since we can’t play as elites, does that mean no Invasion? We don’t need to play the game to know that instant re-spawns doesn’t work with objective gametypes. Just try playing Team Objective 5v5 right now in Matchmaking, but it’s more chaotic. Not having beta is a big risk on your part, granted the most beta’s are for is just gathering and collecting information on network bugs. Making sure that servers can actually support the multiplayer.
This better be one hell of a good podcast that clarifies everything mentioned in the article. I don’t mean just shoving competitive play in 1 corner with 2-3 playlists and that’s it. It should be the forte of Halo. Winning should be the highest priority above everything else. Not gaining perks/armor/commendations - not confirmed but if they are.
Everything just drives old fans away from Halo. There is no doubt that you will expect this kind of reaction from a gaming community, especially one that has been in development for over 10 years. Hopefully something will change for the better in the near future, but this is just beating a dead horse.
