So recently we got some tweets saying adjustments will be made to future HCS bundles on the store and I wanted to bring up the question again on why kits even exist to begin with and what benefit they actually provide to the player.

When I first heard of the idea of kits I thought that it would be the equivalent of presets where you could save your spartan designs and swap between them quickly which is something I’ve wanted in Halo for a long time. Instead however what we got couldn’t have been further from that.
The current kit system consists of premade armour combinations and we have gotten some for Noble team/HCS teams so far. The issues with this start to arise when you realise you can make no modifications to these kits or get access to the individual parts within them. Even with the noble team kits we are still missing the shoulder pads included and can’t use them freely. Heck you can’t even modify the weapons with those also being kits.
So I have to ask what is the point of kits? Why couldn’t they just be bundles sold on the store like everything else? Do they just exist so 343 can cut corners while still charging large amounts? What benefit do players get from this?
It really is just another baffling decision made by 343 and ruins what would be some nice store items that supported teams. I think the entire kit system needs a rethink going forward and for future HCS store items to just be bundles.
