Playing against Kinsano isn’t even fair. I know Halo Wars 2 is more balanced than the original, and even though some leaders have overpowered elements to them, no leader thus far has been more strengths than weaknesses. That’s where Kinsano jumps in. I cannot imagine anyone at 343 Industries or Creative Assembly playtesting her looking for exploits. Kinsano’s abilities are both building killers and infantry killers. Not only that but she gets a superior Warthog that is decent against vehicles and air and dominates infantry and building, available right off the start of the game. Not to mention she can call in 3 from space at will on top of her Assault Group which drops in Hornets and Scorpions and Hellbringers. I hate the “instant unit” abilities. It removes the point of needing to build them yourself. Not to mention calling veteran units, which I detest even more. There is just so much wrong with Kinsano that I honestly don’t even know where to begin fixing her. Halo Wars 2 is a game where once an exploit is found, everybody uses it. And that takes so much away from the game. It sucks the fun right out. There’s just a lot of balancing that needs to be done to the game. And if we’re getting a new leader every month like I’ve heard, there’s going to be a lot of issues down the road if they don’t start balancing things out now and keep on it.
Don’t forget Inferno… you can’t evade this attack with your infantry army… it’s too fast and causes too much damage…
I have to disagree. I play as her and feel she’s nothing special. Inferno is so easy to avoid. You get notified it’s incoming, so you move your troops. Then it hits the ground while your troops are almost already out of blast zone. Planes aren’t affected. Tanks barely are. Only infantry get hurt. Doesn’t do that much damage to buildings like Eradication. It’s not cheap dropping units in either. The flame warthogs aren’t that great. And as a hero, she can’t attack air and died fairly quickly. The carpet bomb ability (can’t remember name) doesn’t even feel strong. Idk, I just don’t think she’s that great. It’s not like she gets superior flamethrowers or anything cool to use.

The initial impact insta-kills tier one banshes and takes more than half the health off of tanks. The time to impact is 1.5 seconds from the warning cursor, and the average movespeed for infantry covers the distance from the center to the outside in about 2-3 seconds. The initial impact will one shot marine and grunt squads, and those it doesn’t kill burn to death in less than a second.
I think the rest of the leader is fine, but Inferno is OP as hell. It’s on par in strength with eradication, but on a shorter cooldown, cheaper cost, and less time to impact. It needs a patch desperately.

Kinsano as a hero is quite resilient. Her shields are the fastest recharging of all units and heroes. Garrisoning her in cover and she’s pretty much invulnerable. The Inferno damages all buildings with constant damage on a base, usually dropping all buildings down to low health (enough for the sirens to start going) and Inferno does damage air units with it’s initial impact. Inferno isn’t the best leader power against units, but buildings it’s where it’s too strong. As for the Flame Warthogs, they’re like Warthog versions of the Grizzly, decent to all units, just scaled. Seriously, against UNSC there are only two three counters to Flame Warthogs; Cyclops, Scorpions, and Air Units. The Flame Warthog already decimates infantry so that eliminates Cyclops, so pairing them up with Wolverines and your own Cyclops or Hornets, and your Flame Warthogs have effectively replaced tanks with the bonus of faster movement and being building killers.
Absolutely agree. Kinsano is so out of control, I just eye roll each time I’m matched against one. So annoying.
And I also like your thinking on instant units. That thing MUST be removed from the game, it degrades strategy in the game as well as giving an unfair population advantage to a player.
Kinsano is insane at each stage of the game. And let’s not talk about how incredibly OP inferno is.
Forgot to mention Flamehogs. Those things are out of this world, imagine a locust on steroids with scout speed.
They shouldn’t be able to attack air at all to compensate for their effectiveness against everything else.

ODST’s are one thing. But when we’re dropping Warthogs, Tanks, Hornets, etc from orbit? Come on now. I wouldn’t have so much of a problem with it if they took longer to recharge and didn’t have veterancy. I mean, Forge can hotdrop 3 Vet 3 Kodiaks when fully upgraded. That negates the point of trying to keep your units alive for those extra buffs of veterancy. I think we have too many leader powers as is. Because you can constantly be using them for every engagement. You go to attack the enemy, they drop down Atriox’s Bullworks, Dying Breath, and Unbreakable to wipe out your army. So you rebuild. By the time you get back on the assault, they have their powers back. I love long games, don’t get me wrong, but just the size of abilities and powers can just slow the game down. And it feels like that whenever they can’t think of anymore powers for a leader but they need more to keep par with the others, they just slap hot drops.

Exactly.
Decimus drop, Retriever, ODST, those are fine as you say, but dropping veteran units just seems so out of place! It breaks the gameplay.
Atriox spirit dropship is the only one I think it’s somewhat balanced because it drops 2 suicide grunts, its sort of like archer missiles for infantry…

Agreed
Her abilities are only good against infantry, If you get someone who is using air, inferno and helldrop is useless. I played her a couple of times and got stomped by Forge in a 50min game. I don’t think she’s that useful.

So you say because you played her a couple of times and lost she is bad? Lmfao that makes absolutely no sense.
Inferno does damage air units in the initial drop, you people need to stop spreading misinformation and pay more attention.
kinsano falls off late game in my opinion. cutter is life.
Is it really that much of a surprise that a T5 leader ability decimated T1 units?

Exactly, what’s the problem. She’s weak, lol I played as her for a week and found her to be useless. Especially In long matches, no where as useful as shipmaster. I like her inferno that’s it, I’ve never had a problem against her, I barley even notice she’s there LOL.
cutter > kinsano
i repeat “she falls off endgame”
I see a lot of people complaining about units being dropped in. Doesn’t he drop 3 grizzlies? ODST, isn’t that 3 groups of troops dropped in? I think someone else gets cyclops to drop in. Almost every leader has that. I don’t think it’s a big deal. I’m more annoyed with eradication and shipmaster teleporting all my troops away from battle. If you play kinsano, build air and tanks. Sorry you can’t built 50 marine grunts with grenade throw. She’s really not that strong.

Forge has 2 drops, one is a t4 leader power, the other is a t5 leader power. Neither of which stun on drop.
Cutter has 3 drops, a t3, t4, and t5
Kinsano has 4 drops, a t1, t3, t4, and t5. One of those drops is mixed unit comp that buffs all units in the area. In addition, Kinsano has dmg/speed buffs for the units when the drop, plus dmg and armor bonus for when they kill. All of her drops, save the turret, come in as veterans.
But you’re right, its exactly the same.
You clearly didn’t played against Isabel… THAT leader is the real deal. Stop complaining about Kinsano and nerf Isabel before anything else
