King of The Hill Question

At least 1 person in each group I play with argues with me and says the hill doesn’t capture any faster with more than one person in it, but I think they are getting confused with halos of the past. I swear by it that the hill goes faster with more people in it, doesn’t it? I had onyx guys tell me this, so I was like they can’t be wrong, maybe also my eyes are deceiving me?

Im really not sure. But it seems that you capture the ring faster when 2 player get in the ring. Just my personal impression.
Would be interesting to hear an official statement.

I’m not sure myself, but to me, I see no difference with 1 or all 4 in the hill.

I don’t think it does. I get where you’re coming from as it always feels like sprinting causes overshields to go down faster personally.

I was playing with a couple dude that told me that they timed it out in a custom game and either way it is 45 seconds and does not go any faster with more players in the square/hill.
Up until then I could have sworn it went faster with more in there.

Thanks, that’s reassuring, i feel like that’s the best way to do it, I wonder why this lie is spreading?!

Is this the case with all zone control modes? I’m certain it goes faster with at most 2 people in the zone for Land Grab and Strongholds.

Correct those two do go faster with more in the zone. Not the case in KOTH though.

Thanks chief.

I forgot to mention Total Control. Since that’s a big team mode does the “max capture speed” have a high player cap?

It’s possible that, like in Strongholds and Land Grab, the territory is claimed faster with more teammates inside. However, once claimed, I believe hill time accumulates at the same rate regardless of how many teammates are in the hill.

Ya i get someone almost every match that tells the whole team to get in the hill. Drives me nuts. Get one guys in there and have the rest of the team pull security and hold them off. U get the whole team in there and you just get the crap naded out of you. Watch the pros and they never just sit in the hill. They slay tactically and get someone in the hill when enemies are spawning. I had someone just freaking out the other day and he was backwards. Halo is hard to play with people that think they know everything but know nothing. Best thing to do in halo is get a team that knows whats up playing by yourself sucks and its not the right way to play. Unfortunately i play alone usually. Hard to do callouts when your trying not to wake up your kids.
