“Kinetic Bolts augment knockback and damage against vehicles.”
Is this knockback against vehicles AND damage against vehicles?
Or does it mean knockback against targets in general (e.g. vehicles and enemies), and damage against vehicles specifically?
It’s always confused me.
Kinetic Bolts deal more knockback, which can even allow you to survive a splatter from a Warthog. They also deal more damage against vehicles, ok alternatives for when you don’t have heavy weaponry at hand.
But that’s it. Those bonuses only apply to vehicles, no other target types.

What would happen if the Warthog was being shot at both from in front and behind? Would the kinetic rounds cancel each other out?

More than likely cancelled. After all, the bullets from behind are boosting it forward, nullifying the knockback produced by the bullets from the front. Although, of course, it’s not perfect, and the vehicle could still be affected even slightly from the knockbacks.
