KINECT with Forge

I read this on a facebook post and It was a very interesting suggestion. Here’s what he said

Elias Marquez-Garcia: How cool would it be if Halo: Reach Forge had Kinect support for easier item editing (using hands). I know it’s unrealistic as Reach comes out before Kinect, but still… http://www.facebook.com/xbox#!/xbox

That would be Majorly cool indeed! Not only for Reach’s Forge (which should be available) But for Halo 3’s Forge as well.

Who else thinks that Having the Kinect work with Halo’s Forge ability is a good idea?

Even if you think it’s a bad idea, share your thoughts

Personally, I think the controller does forge plenty of justice. Halo just doesn’t seem like the type of game to include Kinect. In my opinion Kinect is more for interactive family games.

I’m gonna have to agree with sniper on this one. I think that precision would be a big problem using connect. The controller is perfect for forge. However if another level editor was built around kinect and made to work perfectly then I can see that being very awesome. Maybe bungie will do it with their next IP.

I partly agree with Godlyperfection on this one. The control setup with forge just seems simple and affective.
We also dont know what we’ve got install when Forge 2.0 comes out anyway. (although im sure we’ve all seen the vid doc for it)

However entertaining the idea of using Kinnect with forge; id like to see maybe some DLC in the future that might make the idea become real… however still give players the choice of control or Kinnect.

But for now… im going with the keep it simple

I would agree Kinect with forge if you could use it with halo 3 forge for easy placement. reach looks like I will not need a simplifing feater since this has already been thought of.

Dang, that would be cool but I’d have to agree with the sentiment going on here. I don’t think Kinect wouldn’t be precise enough for forge to work. However, not that we’d see it on XBOX but the surface technology out there may.

actually using kinect with forge could make making forge maps a lot easier since all we would need to do is ask what we want to select or say the way to get what we want to say or use a small icon in corner press, it would zoom up with forge tool kit and it would place anything we want into the places that we want then we would be able to move our hands to rotate

for moving the oracle/ player we could have a sub menu to side that we could have a virtual box to go around or a panning tool to pan across if trying to be careful

That would just make it a pain trying to navigate across Forge World with your hands. And saying things to spawn them might get annoying because there is so many things to spawn! You’d have to get a Forge Dictionary to remember them all! But, then again, a Forge Dictionary is more money for Microsoft… >_<

Hey Kinect support for Halo:Reach Forge mode doesn’t sound bad at all. That would just be another reason to want to get kinect.

I have demoed Kinect, although it’s great, it would not make Forge fun.

Yeah i think thats an awsome idea

It would be a nice side option for those who wish to use it.

Kinect could be used by Machinima makers to make custom animations.

i have to agree with him although your idea reminds me of iron man it would be really difficult coordinating things that arent actually there.

If I may add my 2 sense here, having been using Kinect for several months now, and loving it, I can say that, Kinect is good for many things, but forging wouldn’t be one of the, controller works wonders doing that, and while you could do it in Kinect you wouldn’t have the exact control and fine detail control, as fast as you can do with a control, kinda like how using the dashboard with kinect is possible but easier and quicker with a controller.

Where you in the beta as well? I’m sure that now Kinect is out, the NDA from the beta is pretty useless. It’s an amazing piece of technology, but it would be terrible for Forge.

That would be cool but there are a couple problems that will prevent that. Guns have triggers, and they need you to your finger back, and how will kinect sense that. Then, there is the Moniter, how will you fly around and place stuff with kinect.

That’s what your controller is for.

create a life like forge ball insted for make a kinect gun fhor any halo game
