I went to Extrsa to look at the Library and I had the option to use my controller but it was faded out and said I needed Kinect.

It could of been like the ODST visor and an extra button, LIKE the new to old mode.

My one and only disappointment with this edition.
Missing out cause I don’t want to spend a lot of money on a piece of crap I will hardly use.

Honestly there will be videos on youtube and it will be the same damn thing. I’d rather have them work on other things, than this.
There was a huge rage on this a while back… and it has been known for a while that Analyze and the Library will be Kinect only. I agree, something to make Kinect availible for everyone would be nice… but I think 343 now has pretty much full attention on Halo 4. I know, its a bummer. But Frankie said the information would be available elsewhere, like Waypoint.

My point is from what I have seen there is NO reason based on CE controls and going to the feature it can’t be used without Kinect.
It was greyed out since Microsoft, the greedy thugs who want to sell more Kinects (which isn’t doing so well) stepped in at the last minute and FORCED 343 to make this and analyze mode (Which would work better with a controller as there are far more buttons now) Kinect Only. 343 wanted to give this to everyone, but Microsoft stepped in and ruined a good feature that added to the gift of CEA since MS owns 343.
you can use it without the kinect if you delete everything on your hard drive

I like the Kinect integration for Halo CEA. I also kinda like that you need a Kinect to do the scanning thing.

Well forums are here for such complaints if big enough. How else do you think 343 listen to the community?
This kind of crap just shows how stupid Microsoft considers their customers to be. Exactly how many Kinects do they think they’re going to sell by withholding this ability? Exactly how many copies of the game do they think they’re going to sell to people with Kinects by making this feature only available to them.
I’d love to imagine that figure as somewhere between 0 and eff-all.
I was really looking forward to picking up a copy this weekend, now I’ve got a bad taste in my mouth.

No the complaint is more akin to I can’t even open my car windows unless I go to the shop and buy a $150 car window opener that I should have in the first place.
well, you guys have to think about down the line that Microsoft will start bundling 360’s with Kinects. So there’s going to be this incline of Kinect features because as time moves forward, people will not buy just a 360. They’ll buy a 360 and a Kinect. You can not like it all you want, but that’s where its going.

I agree, from the standpoint of non-Kinect owners, that it should have also been playable with regular controls - but I also have a Kinect, so I’m not as up-in-arms as a lot of people are about it. Either way, Frankie has said that the info will be available elsewhere, like Waypoint or the encyclopedia, so you’re not missing out too much.

Kinect? Not doing well? Are you referring to the piece of tech that has a world record for selling 8 million units in 60 days? That piece of tech that sold 10 million units as of March, so is owned by roughly 20% of all Xbox 360 users, not counting sales since then? That thing?
