Nuff said. This MIGHT make me get a Kinect.

EDIT: Probably not but still it’s cool.

this things would be possible with the controller too.
I dont waste money on that trash kinect.

What’s wrong with Kinect? It’s actually a lot of fun to use and a brilliant innovation.

On topic: I was excited to hear about this, but I loved seeing it. Cannot wait for the Library.

I was happy to hear about being used, I also have a Kinect and it is very fun to use too.

Awesome!!! , Did anyone notice the flood?

When good games come out which support it, I’ll buy kinect. Rise of nightmares looks brilliant, but it’s not worth kinect on it’s own. As for the rest, I have no desire to talk to a virtual cat and if I wanted to excercise I’d go outside. I also have no desire to break my tv or my leg attempting to breakdance. And waving my hands around to shoot lights and play music isn’t my idea of fun.

Basically when they release more mature games I’ll buy. For me though I’d like to see a game which effectivly uses kinect and controller combined. CEA doesn’t seem to do this, the reload voice command just seems impractical. I’d like to see a game like fallout or elder scrolls see kinect, it would be good to pick up items, pick locks and swing your melee weapon using your hands.

That’s pretty cool, the analyze thing. Who would ever say “Grenade” instead of pulling LT?

I do hope that you can do that with a button, maybe “down” on the d-pad or something, because I’m not getting a Kinect.

What I’ve been wondering this whole time. Then there’s also the question of, why can’t we just toggle an option to speak into our headset?

i find it hard to beleive that 343 would intentionally slice out a large portion of its audience by makinf neat collectable features like the analyze mode require kinect, if however that is the case, it significantly lowers my opinion of the game. at any rate, it certianly is’t enough to make me buy a kinect. who would yell out grenade and look like a -Yoink- when you could just pull the left trigger? i ca only hope that the library is also accessable via controller.

I agree. If the new analyze mode and library can’t be accessed by the simple touch of the controller, I’m just going to flip out at 343i. I can’t imagine it’d be too difficult to program.

I love the way they incorporated the kinect!

the funny thing is that the library menu looks made for a controller…

Kinect is not just a mic, its the software thats built in that can read your voice.

> the funny thing is that the library menu looks made for a controller…

Which is exactly why I hope it isn’t Kinect exclusive.

Not really. It’s just the software libraries that come with the kinect sdk.
Not really exclusive to kinect, but to use the libraries they probably need to credit kinect. Granted, it could be made so to access them it literally has to support kinect, but that’d be artificially limited.

It’s just a mic with really good voice support libraries.

Rainbow six vegas used voice comands with just a standard headset…

I think this is the future of kinect: not to be used with standalone games, but used to add to the overall experience.

Thank you, and I know there was another game that did as well, if not a few.

Tom Clancey’s Endwar?

> Tom Clancey’s Endwar?

That’s it! Thank you! But yah, bottom line from all of this, Kinect has no reason to be in Halo CEA. It’s a waste of money, and dev resources. Plus, it’s just a major middle finger to all of the fans without one. Which is most of them.
