Kinda new

I just recently bought Halo Wars and getting into the multiplayer and I keep losing I’ll make a guess and say that I just suck anyway I’m just looking for a fun time while playing and maybe a game or wo where my enemy won’t completely destroy me just cause they can. Maybe I’m looking at the wrong game for that either way I wouldn’t mind some help and advice at getting better i like using the Arbitor

sp, temple, sp, sp, sp, upgrade supply pads, upgrade citadel, double summits, pump banshees, and upgrade boost quickly
Details: when leader comes out you should stall the other player (stop depos, summits, etc.). Upgrade your four sp before you get citadel. Collect as many crates as you can.

If you want more builds let me know. This is the basic covie build. Enjoy.

Sorry for coming to your post and talking about something unrelated but I didn’t want to make my own post to ask this question and figure that you could easily answer it for me. I bought Halo Wars when it came out but no longer own it. I loved it and was considering rebuying, is there still enough people playing to do the multiplayer?

Yup, but not as many people as there used to be.

Yeah, I was on last night and there were about 7200 people, which I think is pretty good for a game that is almost 3 years old. It’s usually in the 5000 range which is still good and I have not had trouble finding a game quickly (I usually play Standard 3v3).

Thank you for the help and I’d love more builds and help learning. The one player told me last night to keep building shield generators. And from what I can tell it is really active. Sadly most players don’t talk so it makes it harder to work together when you play together but if anyone wants to play or help me learn. FlyingSilver12 is my gamertag I of course also play all the other Halo games lol

don’t build too many shield generators. it is usually best for covie, provided you have the right support, to build a shield later. when you’ve upgraded your warehouses, upgrade your base and build another warehouse but don’t upgrade it; then build a summit. depending on the amount of supplies you have collected with your scout/leader you should be able to research the next age. now you have the tech you could destroy the non-upgraded warehouse for a shield generator and go from there.

Thank you for the advice this helps makes things a bit easier.

Thanks to everyone help I won a few games. Advice still welcome and so are new friends.

I have another question and am coming to you. Do I need the DLC? The map pack and the gametype pack to play?

> I have another question and am coming to you. Do I need the DLC? The map pack and the gametype pack to play?

No, you don’t need them. The DLC gametypes have their own separate playlists, and the new maps are only chosen in matchmaking if everyone in the game has purchased them.

Just curious do people on higher ranks target recruits and such to take them out first? Cause every game i played I’m the first one attacked and taken out even with help.

Seems unlucky.
That’s good though. You learn a lot from losing. Think of ways to counter what you lose to. It will make you a better player. Tell us the situation and we could help you out as well.

I got two different losses that even with help I couldn’t seem to stop. the first few are what seems a rush of tanks from the enemy. I barely get anything started and suddenly I’m being tank rushed and they seem to be using a hit and run tactic. Rush me do damage than disappear than reappear and do it all over again. That is the one I’m having the most problems with. The second is a all out air rush but that seems to take longer and not nearly as bad as the tanks.

at what time do these tanks appear?

The first couple of tanks in a game usually pop out at around 5:00. It depends on the build the player is using. The first five minutes of scouting your enemy is really crucial so you know what you’re going to be up against. Send your Arbiter to the UNSC base and deny his Vehicle Depots/Supply Pads. He will be forced to make turrets, which sets him behind. Also, since you’re the Arbiter, you should have no problem raging down 2-3 tanks that don’t have Canister Shell yet. On top of that, you’ll have banshees to help as well.

Usually I’m just getting my stuff ready to build when the first few tanks appear. My arbitor does some damage but the hit and run tactic always seems to end up with him being killed. But my biggest problem is trying to get a proper build done in time.

So I used a banshee rush and I managed to win a game.

I would say depends on the person. I attack the higher rank first, especially if it’s a General and say recruit or major. I don’t want that Gen to be getting a good build on. The lower ranks are usually of no concern to me. Like the other day they attacked my random low level guy first and had him out in minutes of the game starting. I came back and after close to 30 mins won the game. If they attacked me first we most likely would have lost since my team mate had no clue what he was doing.

It’s a good rush. I like using prophet myself over arby. To each there own. Another good one is hammering out some wraiths fast but they are weak but fast so you really need to concentrate on keeping them moving.
