As we all know our beloved franchise, Halo will be continued with Halo 4 come this November. 343i has been working on this game for close to 4 years now and have put tremendous effort and energy into Halo 4.
One other, and sadly, more popular franchise, Call of Duty, is also releseing one of their games, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 this November. Not only does it release in November, But it releases One week after Halo 4. Also another fast fact is that The release date was announced after 343i announced theirs. (hmmmmmnnn…??)
Treyarch couldnt have possibly put in the same ammount of effort due to their last Black Ops game being released almost Two years ago, but even with out puting the effort and energy into their game, they WILL outsell Halo. its not a matter of maybe, it is a fact.
It must really suck knowing that even though you put so much effort into any game, you still cant beat the power horse that is Call of Duty. I feel sorry for 343i because they wont make as much money as they would if Treyarch hadnt decided to slap them in the face by releasing their game ONE WEEK after 343i releases theirs.
but like always, Halo will pull through
Live long halo…
…Live long 343i!
Why is this a big deal? Why are we still measuring -Yoinks!- between these two vastly different genres. So they’re both FPS, so what. CoD is getting a multi-platform release, so either way, Halo would never topple those sells. Now, on a more exclusive basis, who will outsell on the 360 itself, I say let us wait and see.
I’ve already heard about tons of people saying they wont bother with Black Ops 2 since its pretty much the same game they’ve put out for over idk how many years, and other bashing it for the future war aspect of it.
Put it simply Halo 4 already has a foundation where it can last long and hold its own. CoD’s foundation is rotting beneath them and there is absolutely nothing they can do about it. They can’t balance the game properly and revamp the multiplayer with a ton of new changes to keep it fresh since then no one would buy it.
TL;DR let CoD kill itself, Halo has a bright future ahead of it
Hey, give Treyarch some decent credit here. They at least care about the franchise and thier fanbase. They’re willing to at least patch their game and are completely aware that the loud minority are in fact a selfish minority. They’re at least trying to mix up the campaign and give us something new every two years.

Yeah but still their hands are tied in the long run. They can’t do anything ground breaking with multiplayer and already their games are hated in the CoD fanbase. Sad too, Zombie Nazis where my main reason to buy any DLC or play Black Ops
Halo 4 is already outselling COD Black Ops 2 and this includes it across every platform. I’ve yet to even see anything in Black Ops 2 that catches my eye, I used to be a big COD fan up to COD 4, I simply felt pretty awesome stepping into WW2. I felt the series did well and at its best when it focused on events surrounding actual wars, it kept the story lines quite dramatic for me and interesting. But now it just feels like the energys been sapped out of the series, and they dont seem to have any plans to go back and work on areas that really peaked my interest.
I don’t care if Halo 4 outsells Call of Duty or if it’s the other way around. No matter what happens, I know I’ll be playing Halo 4 and loving every second of it!

How can this be a fact, if it has yet to come true?
Also, sales figures aren’t necessarily proportional to how “good” a game is, nor is time in development. Look at games like Timesplitters or Dante’s Inferno; each great games with a wonderful story and gameplay, however they’re arguable among the most underrated. Then you have titles like Duke Nukem Forever, which was under development for nearly a decade and released into the wild, only to be thrown back.
It’s generally assumed that there’s a correlation between time spent in development/number of sales as a determining factor of how “good” a game is, however that’s not always the case. If a game interests you, play it. If you like it, then it’s good. One shouldn’t need reviews, media, sales figures, anybody or anything else to make their opinions for them.
