First thing I’ll say is if you like the trailer and have no problem with the new engine then fine I am legitimately happy for you and I hope you all love it when you play it,however to me it looked like an updated version of a halo 1 trailer. You see chief marines and a halo and that’s it.The new engine is really throwing me off. Most fans didn’t have a problem with halo 4 or 5s engine, they had a problem with the art style which obviously they changed.
Why change the engine though when it was already good? This engine doesn’t look suitable for a fps halo game imo.If this is a open world halo then shouldnt it be a spin off with its new engine and not continuing the previous story with a completely new look? not to mention the fact that there is no halo game for another year which would be 4 years since the last mainline halo game and we got a trailer that didn’t really show that much.
I don’t remember a single halo game 343 made that shares the same engine. Besides spartan assault and spartan strike. So it would make sense that the future halo games would have their own engines.

i feel the same, simply because it is just disconnected from everything, random, looks like fan made.
Try 5 years…no way it drops in 2019 based on that blog post
Actually it hasn’t even been 3 years yet. I do agree though this was a bit underwhelming, I was hoping for more than some poorly render alien rhinos running. I think we will have to wait and see what the gameplay is, but I was also getting an open world vibe from it. I think that this looks interesting and I am happy to see the older style return.
P.S. Halo 4 and 5 are made on the same engine as all the other existing Halos, its just a modified version.
The fact that the old one wouldnt do, or couldnt be used for What they want means sometbing new. Im not sure if i should be excited thought becuase your right, the trailer was kind of lacking. It did have symbolism though, like the various rings and balls of light being shot up.
maybe the new engine is needed to run those new animals, halo isnt known for wildlife being a main part of the game, neither is vast plains. Imo maybe thats why we need slip space

Halo 4 and 5 had similar engines though, this looks so different from its predecessors

Going 7.5-8 years between Halos? idk.
Maybe they needed a new engine so they could keep the massive battles, but also bring back split screen.

Especially between mainline halo games. There basically saying you guys get to preoccupy yourselves with mcc, halo 5 and hw2 for at least another year if not more
As a diehard fan, I will wait for however long it takes. I have patience, there are other things to do. Halo will never be dead. Halo isn’t dead, it’s only MIA. And when it returns, whenever it decides to, there will always be people behind it to support the Franchise. Just like the flood, all it takes is one fan to rally a large group of supporters, and then that turns into world wide support
. If a games hot, people will flock towards it.
I’m not concerned about the engine, it looks amazing and driven by classic art style. We have great texture making return, which was lackluster in H5 and 4. The atmosphere looks expansive, so that’s a pro for dynamic Halo missions. Halo Reach and CE are as open world as it has ever gotten, and they both looked fine throughout the entirety of the scenery for their times. Wild Life in Halo? So what, more immersive experience. We’ve had Moas and alien birds
. Just be patient. I’d much rather this, than an abysmal unfinished rushed product for a Halo game.
I think people are massively overreacting to this trailer. All this was was pretty much a tech demo in aaway…showing stuff they could do with the new engine. It’s highly likely what we just saw won’t even be in Halo 6. Remember the teaser that we saw for Halo 5? That didn’t even exist in the final version of Halo 5.
I just think and take this as Microsoft way of letting people know a new legit Halo game is being made. That’s all. I wouldn’t judge anything from this announcement other than the art style is clearly going to be more like The originals games/ Halo Wars.
