Long time Halo player here and i got to say with each title coming out i’m seeing lower and lower efforts from other team members deploying teamwork on the battlefield within objective based games.
Take CTF for example. Not to toot my own horn but i feel like the only guy going for the flag then when i asking for some backup to pick me up in a hog or to defend me they are all crowded around our flag and getting picked off by long range DMR’s and snipers.
I believe Reach had it right when it employed matchmaking ablities such as searching for teamworkers and lone wolf’s…i miss this feature because i did end up playing in some well put together teams.
Yup. It’s frustrating when you’re the only one on your team trying to win.
I’m okay with people going for kills, but at least do it in a way that helps. For example, when I’m running the flag back on Ragnarok, don’t sit at our base with the sniper. Move up to the side/middle of the map and cover me. You get really easy kills because the enemy team is 100% focused on killing me.
Only time I’ve ever seen team work was in CTF once. One guy defended the falg, another took the Banshee and another took the Mantis, while another teammate and I went on a Mongoose and scored the flag in succession. It was a perfect game. But, out of all ~250 I’ve played, that was it.
Your best option is to try and group up wit hthose who do try to use teamwork, or group up with friends good at the game. I grouped up with some randoms yesterday it was great had some good teamwork going on we were shareing our ordinances with those who could use the weapons to their fullest. Mostly depends upon the people 2.
