Kilo Five May Be Wiped Out on Venezia

I’m speculating at the moment, but after reading The Thursday War and Kilo-Five’s new objective of locating the insurrectionist Staffan Sentzke and the stolen CCS battle cruiser, Pious Inquisitor, I get this eery feeling that Kilo-Five may be in over their head. ONI & UNSC may see the first Spartan Casualty since the Human-Covenant War.

Staffan and Sav Fal may have a large group of supporters behind them; I believe maybe even one of his posse may have seen at least one of Kilo-Five’s members sometime during the war. After connecting some dots in my head, the thought crossed my mind that maybe 'Telcam will be a new customer to the insurrectionists when it comes to arms. Somehow, Jul’s faction may arrive on Venezia later to purchase ships through the black market and establish a fleet. If this happens, and Jul spots Naomi, he can most certainly identify a Spartan just by the height and blow their cover. Let’s not forget that he has seen Vaz also. If the SHTF on Venizia with Jul and 'Telcam there, I’m going to roll the dice and believe the following will happen:

  • Jul will establish a fleet with the help of Staffan.

  • Local species of Kig-Yar and Unggoy join with Jul’s Storm faction

  • Jul will meet 'Telcam and execute him for conspiring with ONI for weapons to rise up against the Arbiter

  • Naomi and Vaz will be killed in the conflict with Jul’s forces and/or Staffan’s, who will show no remorse for his daughter until it’s too late to realize they were related

  • News will travel to Devereaux, Mal and Osman that the mission was a failure and ONI will try and cover up their mission. Either of the three will disclose it ONI’s black ops missions to Hood out of disgruntlement.

  • Hood sacks Parangosky and attempts to restore the alliance and treaty with Thel 'Vadam’s separatists after they all find out about 'Telcam and Jul ‘through the grapevine’

  • Jul will take his add-ons to his fleet and head for Requiem

One big problem with your theory:

Jul is the LAST Sangheili that would go to humans to get ships and weapons. He most likely ‘colony hopped’ to the various isolated Sangheili colonies to build up his forces.

Other than that, the rest sounds plausible.

That is the great part of it all. He finds out either through the keeps, or from 'Telcam himself that he will be buying weapons on Venizia. Since Jul has so much hatred toward humanity anyway, he betrays 'Telcam and kills him for his treachery to the Sangheili race, then repossesses the equipment to form his fleet convincing 'Telcam’s followers to join him as he was just another puppet of the humans, just like the Arbiter.

Spartan IVs died on Requiem.

Also, it has been highly hinted at in the Kilo-Five Triolgy that there will be a Sangheili attack on Venezia.

Repurposing the equipement/troops from Telcam’s faction after killing him, yes, I can see. However, Jul buying equipement directly from the humans themselves…

…not a chance.

Of course. He hates humans, why would he be a hypocrite like 'Telcam?

I haven’t heard of this. Was this in the Thursday War and I missed it?

Fireteam Castle was shot down and killed in Spartan Ops.

Don’t know if you saw this but it has some things for the last book. http://flugelmeister.wordpress.com/2012/12/08/the-thursday-war-with-karen-traviss/

Its possible Jul would get help from Staffan indirectly. I mean, Staffan was cought pow-wowing with the important skirmisher guy. Its possible Jul goes to the skirmisher guy, and the skirmisher guy pulls some strings with Staffan, even if Jul doesnt know.

I would be fine with Vaz dying, the other members of Kilo-5 aren’t insufferable -Yoink-.

Any scenario that sees Parangosky and Osman kicked firmly on their backsides by someone like Hood, and Kilo-Five disbanded/detained/dismembered would make me a happy reader.

Hell, I’d gladly line up to write it - anything to undo Karen Traviss’ awful attempt at shoe-horning her one-size-fits-nothing style of fan-fiction into the Halo-verse.

I don’t get what she was thinking trying to derail the Sangheili-Human Alliance by using ONI. That is complete BS.

Hope Krap-5 gets whacked

And as we know now… Osman becomes head of ONI

It is explained pretty clearly in the book. Kick them so far down that they can’t ever threaten mankind again. Kind of clear as day.

And you’re realizing that if 343 viewed Karen’s work as outside the direction the universe is going to take, they would have made her change it. She’s writing from a story bible, all she does is develop characters within a set Narrative. The creative freedom you all seem to infer she has is slightly moronic.

Hmm, first Spartan casualty since the Human-Covenant war?

Do you have any idea how many S-IV’s I’ve killed?

Lolno but seriously, you know Gek has all those Spartans’ dog tags right? Not to mention probable casualties on the battle for Infinity, and the mysterious disappearances of Switchback [I think that’s the name].

EDIT: Never mind, I mistakenly thought Kilo - Five took place AFTER Halo 4. When does it take place though?

The books we’ve read take place in 2553, just months after the war ended. It’s possible that the next book in the series will take place after 2557, but I doubt it, what with all of the drama building up about Venezia and Staffen and Jul.

Why is everyone citing Requiem and the Spartan-IVs as the first post-Covenant War casualties? Requiem is discovered in 2557. The novel we’re talking about takes place in 2553. If Naomi is to perish, she will be the first Spartan casualty since the war ended.

A Issue with yours is that Jul doesn’t let any petty dogma stop him from gaining power. If ants could build worthy ships and offered Jul some he would take them. You have played spartan ops right?
