Sorry for the “all capitals” title. I am not trolling, it honestly won’t let me type it in lowercase.

I am a very big halo fan, been a fan since halo 2, I am not the Call of Duty type of guy in case your thinking.

However, last week, for the first time, I played a call of duty title, which was MW3. While at my friends house doing so, I managed to get only a few care packages out of all my games in all of the 8 hours i was at his house. I must say, killstreaks are actually a very good incentitive, however I do see why they wouldn’t belong in a halo game.

But what if it worked differently, Okay, keep the same halo formula, everyone still starts with the same weapons, the Primary way of getting weapons and vehicles is still through salvaging them when they spawn on the map. Now think of this, if a player gets a kill they get “Service points”, which can be used to Purchase guns and even vehicles if the map is large enough, from an armory.

Killing someone will give them 10 service points, and getting medals will earn you additional points, excluding killing spree medals so that camping isn’t promoted. for example,
double kill +25 points,
triple kill +50,
overkill+100,
reload this +5,
first strike +5,
Savior +20,
Sticking someone +20,
Headshot (Not sniper) +5,
Headshot(sniper) +15

and weapons will be priced like this
Assault Rifle 30 points
Battle rifle 30 points
SMG 20 points
Rocket launcher 200 points w/ 2 spare clips
Sniper rifle 200 points w/ 1 spare clip
frag grenade reload 20 points
Warthog 300 points
Banshee 250 points
Wraith 400 points
Scorpion 450 points etc.

What do you guys think? would this make halo more fun to play? Notice how everything in the list above me is high priced, so the main mode of earning things will still be off the map, however if a player gets 30 kills + medals totaling in 450 points, doesn’t he deserve a scorpion for doing so? plus, note that killing spree medals do not earn any extra points so camping will not become a problem!

Yes Halo need killstreaks. Whenever I get a kill I wonder, why can’t I get an extra push even though I’m already winning? Maybe 2 kills should get a rocket launcher, and hell why not throw in the target locater for whoever can get 4 kills. Why stop there, they should also make it so that when you throw a grenade it magically warps to the closet enemy to you so you know you get the kill. Hell, they should make it so that the loser’s bodies, after loosing, falls into an eternal pit of despair in where there xbox live Member ship is suspended for 3 weeks to make them think about what they’ve done.

I dont see how the killstreak system is supposed to be fair. If a player is better than the other players, he gets more powerful tools. How is that competetive?
Doing great in a round shouldnt make it easier for you to get an even better score.
I do think killstreaks could be implemented in a arcade firefight mode, but not in competetive matchmaking.

Every time you earn 10 kills without dying, your Spartan is awarded steak to eat during battle. Even Spartans have to eat and while this does not have an effect on gameplay whatsoever, it does keep your Spartans tummy full and give you a flaming head for the rest of the match. Earn 2000 kill steaks during your Halo 4 career and 343 will you send you an actual steak via mail.

Plus you earn 100+ in coolness and badassery, also the game isn’t broken by killstreaks and AC-130s. Sounds like win to me.

Kill streaks are just plain out annoying, sorry dude, but it’s true. I don’t play cod often solely due to the kill streak factor. The main problem with kill streaks is that they are plain out illogical, hey award players who camp and noob tube by giving them power weapons?! Wow honestly makes no sense, Halo should remain with its load out system because it balances the battle field, it takes skill to use the dmr but hardly any to use the rocket launcher. I mean would it not be frustrating to be getting annihilated and when you manage to hold them off, they get a kill streak and once again beat you?

I totally think something like this would be awesome for Firefight and/or Invasion. But I would like to see it expand beyond just buying weapons and vehicles. I would like to see carpet bombs, mac blasts, and etc. Maybe unlock different types of Target Locaters for different attacks.

Why would i need the scorpion when in halo 3 i would get more kills without? If the players were good in halo 3 the scoprions didn’t have a chance of catching up to the kill count to the good players. I can’t do this in Reach though, because in Reach everyone is equal …

It’s a very neat idea for sure, but I really don’t think it would work with halo. I’d rather see a player with very high skill be rewarded with map control, and the weapons that spawn in that controlled section like the normal gameplay than buying weapons, as you know it could end up and absolute spam fest.
