Reallistically this shouldnt be too difficult but in the last ten games Ive played, not only did the enemy team rarely use the hog for eight of those matches, but the times I did kill a warthog (three total) THEY DIDNT EVEN FRICKING COUNT
I guess the plasma grenade killed the enemies before the warthog “exploded” takes away from the medal because the vehicle isnt manned? (despite everything blowing up simultaneously two of the three times)
im so pissed right now, what a waste of two hours. so many of these challenges just feel asinine due to strange mechanics, bugs, or legitimately low chances of pulling them off due to RNG (you know, like winning three games of strong holds in a playlist that tends to throw you in the objective mode that ISNT what you need…)
Yeah it has to be manned to count. Makes it so you kinda need huge damage in a small window to stop them being able to abandon ship.
I’ve found that hammer with camo or grapple is easy Warthog kill. Did one set of 3/3 doing that.
Sniper/Skewer/Rockets are also a surefire way to get them. I got rockets and camped my own base waiting for the Warthogs to come. Sniper actually kills a Warthog pretty fast. Got a few Warthog kills with that. Skewer kinda sucks as is 2 shot kill but if Warthog has been damaged a bit by your team then it’s the best way of killing one as you can do it at a pretty long distance away.
Skewer and heatwave are your friends, hydra and cindershot can work in a pinch. I don’t think I’ve ever played a game of btb where a warthog or rockethog wasn’t in use at some point, my biggest issue with that challenge is procuring the requisite weapon and staying alive for that narrow window of an encounter are a pain.
This is exactly what prevents me from getting Scorpion and Wraith challenges done, because they hop out before it explodes, and those vehicles are much more rare than Warthogs. Some of these challenges are just immediate skips if I see them, due to being extremely unlikely to happen in under 50 matches. I’m not wasting a whole week waiting to skewer a vehicle just to watch them jump out.
