Also the poor guys playing 4 player split say it can be very distracting since it can get VERY close to their reticle.
i have a big tv. and it can get in the way still. and if youre on split screen. its best not to play swat cuz it can go right over the reticle(which it has on many many occasions) though i would rather the killfeed stay the same. its worth it when you get somebody who changed their gamertag just so the killfeed will read funny. like the old “Bush betrayed America” pic from halo 3.

> There are still people who actually play on 4:3 aspect ratio? Perhaps getting a widescreen TV/monitor may fix your problem.
I have a widescreen and choose not to use it for Halo because the widescreen aspect ratio really accentuates aim acceleration for me, rendering my aim just plain bad. Have played on 4:3 too long. Actually have 3 friends that do the same too.
Also, I hear that even using a widescreen doesn’t always fix the problem. Especially with the dumb “with a headshot” phrase added to the feed. (As if that’s important.)
From what I can tell they are going with a simple player_1 killed player_2. Although I would like them to get more creative as they did with Quake. Player_2 ate player_1’s rocket for example.

A killfeed really isn’t the place to be getting creative.

Also to consider… If your widescreen is a new-gen LCD or LED (same tech with different backlight) there is input lag due to image processing. I cannot play on the Tv in my living room as it infuriates me. I play on the old plasma out back for silky smooth gaming.
Anyways OT, the only time I look at the killfeed is if I’m betrayed.
I can see and hear what kills me, I don’t need a picture of a gun.
Then again, It would nice to have a symbol for a headshot to clear up some space.
