Killcams look broken

Just watched the EuroGamingLeague. The killcams looked broken almost every time. You see the other player shooting and the reticule red but he doesn’t hit or even aim towards you on the playback.

Why add this feature? We know how we die in Halo games, CoD makes more sense to have killcams. CoD you can barely tell how you died until the killcam. In Halo you can just about always tell with the death cam. I really hope this is something we can turn off.

I noticed that too but I don’t think they were playing the final build. Hopefully the final version had this fixed.

The EuroGaming League stream was terrible and boring to watch. I think radar had something to do with though. Promotes passive gameplay (the nice way of saying camping) and some -Yoink- like that. Odd that i find off screen footage gameplay but randoms more entertaining…

Anyways, i think there was something wrong with the kill cams, i seen that. Most likely be fixed in the final build. Of course, if the competitive community has a say so, they will ask for this feature to be removed and rightfully so because it adds nothing they can use to win and dare say, a big distraction?

Probably the build, also you can always skip the killcam or change it back to the teabagging view ( <---- i dunno about this heard it on the forum a while ago).

Also how can you not know who killed you in CoD games?

I personally think of it as a redundant feature; especially with the addition of instant respawns and the return of theater mode.

I love Halo 4, don’t get me wrong but i found it funny how fast they went over the kill cam feature lol. That’s something i couldn’t ignore.

I know how a player killed me. He shot me with a standard weapons, blew me up with frags, and explosives, ran me over, or sniped me. I can do the rest.

Oh well, the feature isn’t going to kill me. Not sure if it really belongs in MM but whatever.

“kill cams look broken.”

My response: “Good. Let them stay that way.” /sarcasm

Those were pro’s OP, the common player still be staring at the cam going, “How did he kill me?”.

Killcams aren’t broken, they are fairly long, And they skipped the kill cam every time but ONCE in the EGL tourny (So you never actually saw the killing shots only the lead up to it before it was skipped). But yeah, it was rather boring. they didn’t use the weapons very actively. they didn’t bother to experiment nor did they attempt anything very dynamic. I’m no pro but they weren’t very good IMO (Save 1 or 2 quite accurate shooters).

Note I have no problem with the kill cam. I don’t see why it matters to people who don’t like it. Ignore it, look at your loadouts, SKIP it and insta-respawn. If I die to an unknown assailant then I will be watching the replay.

I hope it’s just an early build. It would be bad if something like that didn’t work out.

it gives you easy access to information about a gamer’s play style, and whether they got lucky or are actually that good.

They seem REALLY glitchy. On a match on Relay I saw, the killcam didn’t even display forge pieces, so all the players were seemingly floating.

Any time and effort they spent on killcams would have been much better spent improving theatre, considering the Halo one is somewhat outdated and beaten now.

I assumed the ridicules always being red was a feature so that it is easy to identify between real time gameplay and kill cams.

I’m just not certain many people will be watching Kill Cams. In a game like Halo people just want to keep playing and it’s never really rocket science to figure out who killed you. With instant respawns added as well, it just seems odd to add the Kill Cam feature.

You can be attacked by an entire team, you can be sniped from across the map, or you could be killed from a stray grenade. I think it’s useful. Who want’s instant respawn when you can learn more from a killcam.

The killcam will greatly improve ones gameplay if used for that purpose; I know I will use the killcam to:

  1. Analyze and improve my strafe.
  2. Analyze and possibly change the way I tried to outsmart my opponent since I didn’t succeed.
  3. Observe how my opponent saw me when I think he shouldn’t have.
  4. Observe if I just got killed fairly or if a teammate shot me or naded me.

That’s just off the top of my head before I have had the chance to experiment with it; and I’m sure there are tons of more uses we will discover after playing H4 for a while.

On another note; I believe the instant respawn system is only used in the Infinty Slayer playlist right?

If they’re anything like Crysis 2’s killcams then I will be extremly pissed… If you don’t know, the Crysis 2 killcams were sooo off and a complete joke. At least in CoD you can see what happened. Most of the time in Crysis you had a first person view, sometimes third… yeah, but it sometimes didn’t show you on the recording and/or had a no recoil gun shooting into nothing. I would of prefered no killcams in that game lol… I have noticed the glitchy/spotty killcams and really hope if they aren’t perfect, or on par with CoD, that they get scrapped until H5.

There’s Killcams in Halo? What’s the use for that when we already have Situational Records?

Hohoho I hate people calling -Yoink- by the wrong names. Sit Recs don’t sound like a bad short form does it?

It’s pretty inevitable that most people are going to call them killcams, just as most people are going to call ‘armour mods’ perks.

Wait till final build I guess.
