Kill zones

So, I hope they remove Kill zones in campaign. And also in multiplayer, like… If I can grenade jump or ability jump to a place, that requires me being good and skilled at it, then why kill me if I can?

Halo 3 was so fun hiding around, jumping to sweet spots to get advantage over the enemy team. And winning is teaching, losing is learning.

Go into theater, watch how they did it, learn it, use it.

I hope they remove kill zones in this game. What are your thoughts? Ofc I see how it can be effected negatively in matchmaking, but they don’t have to keep the places you can get out of the map. I only care about the places where you can actually get to and be killed by the enemy team. Even if it requires that they have to search for you.

Edit: since I forgot to mention, I mean if both you and the enemy have weapons that can kill at distance. Not if the enemy only have CQ like sword. A post about infection in Reach was made, where people got to high or narrow places where the zombies couldn’t do anything to kill the humans.

If killzones were to be removed, then having fall damage should be a trade-off as such.

For campaign. Sure, the worst case is that you have to restart the level if the checkpoint is in bad place and you get softlocked.

But maybe not in multiplayer, the infection for one was horribly exploited with those places on Halo: Reach. If the zombies didnt have the running ability then it was impossible to get to some places and that just takes the fun away from others.

This I can agree on, totally forgot to mention that. I mean if the stakes are equal. If both can fire, not if one only have CQ weapons.

You ever been in Forge and just wanted to admire the scenery? Then you step in the perfect spot to see something cool and this message pops up?

I never liked those things. If we need them though, can I suggest they be able to get turned off at least for forge? (Or even be editable)

Yeah, I want them gone. It just makes playing the game aggravating sometimes. I’m of the mentality that if I see it I should be able to go there. Kill Zones are kind of just lazy game design when you think about it.

Maybe NakedEli and other speed running halo youtubers would come back if this would be implemented.

I kinda like them, it makes the out of bounds transition more gradual than just slapping your face on an invisible wall (obviously an exaggeration). If they were removed on default maps, I still think they should be forge objects as having those and being able to adjust their size is something that seems pretty useful for custom stuff.

I never liked them. Just design the maps with natural barriers, and put invisible walls behind them.
