taking party chat away means that you will now be subjected to listening to everyone talk about anything and everything, trash talk, etc. not to mention proximity voice.
but leaving it means that if you’re flying solo, you may get left out if your other teammates are in their own parties.
i’ve BTDT in both and while i can agree it sucks to be “alone” (for all intents and purposes), i find that the first situation is far, far worse. maybe that’s because i’m a girl and all the trash talk/insults end up directed my way eventually but i’ve just started not playing team games unless i have at least one other person to play with.

But I play Halo alone a vast majority of the time. I don’t care about the trash talk, sometimes it’s part of the fun. But when you’re on a team and every one is in party chat and you are not, it’s annoying.
It’s like you’re left out and have to go lone wolf.

okay, and i find listening to said trash talk annoying. your opinion isn’t more valid than mine and your desired experience shouldn’t trump mine either.
not to mention, just because your “teammates” have mic’s doesn’t mean that they are going to be friendly. i can’t tell you the number of times that i’ve tried to talk to my 3 other randoms and just been belittled and harassed. it’s not a magic band aid for either issue, unfortunately.

Very rarely have I have come across unfriendly team mates. As for the trash talking it’s OK when good natured and it’s all in good fun.
I love being in a party because I love chatting with my friends, even when they are in different games, which they usually are. If I’m not allowed to talk to people I like talking to and I’m instead forced to talk to people I don’t feel like talking to in the first place, I’m just not going to play halo unless they are all in the same game as me. If anything you’re just going to end up losing potential good teammates if you remove it.
I refuse to be forced to listen to people with little babys or barking dogs in the background, or to kids who wine when they get killed, or to my brothas that throw trash talk around everywhere. Sorry, no.

You don’t have to be forced. There is the mute option you know.

…which then results you being on a team where you still can’t communicate with your teammates. how is that any better? at least in party chat you can enjoy yourself while you play.

But not everyone you come across is unfriendly on Halo.
How often do you enter a game and mute everyone with a mic?
What if your closest friends can’t be there to play Halo with you, or maybe just don’t want to play Halo to talk to you. Depriving players of party chat is taking a major step backwards into the dark age that we know as Pre-TU Xbox LIVE. You know, when anyone who played Fallout 3 or Oblivion had nobody to talk to? If those kinds of players have friends that play Halo, why should they suffer consequently because some people don’t have friends to play Reach with? I hope I made my point clear.
You know that they will either mute you (if playing with friends) or unplug their mic (if playing alone). Honestly you don’t even need to communicate in Reach if you ask me.
same. I don’t use teamwork, because most of the times my teammates are stupid.
For example, we were playing assault at hemmorage. I had a perfection (using partly a wraith, partly a sniper, and partly a DMR). I picked up the bomb with 5 seconds left. We went into sudden death. we were 1 point down.
I ran over to a mongoose with a driver. before i got there, another of my teammates jumped on and they drove away. Idiots. whatever.
I then got in a warthog with a driver. On the way there, the driver STOPS (theres 15 seconds left) and is honking at a sniper to get in the gunner. I jump out, and go on foot, with 7 or 8 seconds left. With 2 seconds left i get splattered. I sacrificed my perfection so that we might win, and the idiots still caused us to lose.
Removing party chat would cause an inconvenience to me and many others. Xbox LIVE is not only a gaming network, but it is also a social network. Myself and many others use it to talk to friends (often people they know in person) at night while we are playing games. Most conversations are private and are not for others to hear and people want to be able to talk to their friends regardless of what game they’re playing.
Plus, you reckon that removing party chat will force people to use game chat? Because it won’t, TRUST ME. People will use other methods such as Skype to have private conversations with their friends while they’re playing games.
The fact is, removing party chat would be rather inconvenient for the average person.
In my opinion party chat should be removed from the Semi-competive playlists. Team Slayer, Arena, Doubles, MLG, team objective and Snipers. It leaves plenty of options for the party chatters and For the ones who want to talk to other human beings…
