Kill Effects

I’m not sure what they are really called so I’m calling them kill effects. I’m referring to things like rag doll physics and animated deaths. In Reach there was a mix of animations and rag doll physics, I thought animations were unattractive and annoying. In halo2 and 3 the enemy would either just drop or get punched hard backwards, both were vary rewarding. For some reason animations although sometimes more realistic, just ruined the moment. Its a small detail but still effects players experiences. If animations are apart of the death system in Halo4 then please make them more realistic for example faster, more suiting to the cause of death, and maybe even vary on the type of weapon. Even then rag doll deaths are always great to look at and vary rewarding. At least that’s how I see it.

Thoughts??

I personally like the ragdoll effects.

Anyone ells?

I liked reach’es. You would go flying, fall flat, drop dead, have cool little animations, and of course my favorite. The wall plant. It was very realistic and fit the game accordingly.

I agree, the ragdoll was just better. The only animation I liked in Reach was the falling one. Where you spin around until you get to that out of bounds spot.

The ragdoll was indeed much more rewarding. Getting the beatdown on someone and watching their body fly from the force of your hit made you feel totally badass.

I’ve seen some weird ragdoll physics in Reach that are just freakin’ hilarious to watch. I also like how if a player is shot in the head, they reach up to their face or do something of the sort.

So true lol, i remember looking in theater mode, and I charged at this one Guy from the side while his shields were dropped, and he just went soaring B).

I felt like the Juggernaut.

The head shot thing. When you, well when I get a head shot I want to feel like I just took them out with one shot to the head, if the guy grabs his neck then the head shot feel just got thrown away. A head shot should put someone down instantly, nobody’s grabbing their neck(which doesn’t make any sense anyway) or making any movements at all after getting a shot to the head. It ruins it. Rag doll physics are the best.

And the assassinations were ten times cooler too. I mean, the quick ones, not the long animations. Just smack them and watch their body go limp as you continue fighting like nothing happened.

I love the mid air assassination, but if you think about it more, it’s kind of weird freezing in mid air for like a second or 2. But it’s sweet. I hope they at least implement assassinations from Reach.

Tbh, I have sprint to thank for getting me a majority of my assassinations.

The ragdoll effects in Reach were worse than Halo 3’s. Dead bodies would often clip into themselves. Like legs combining and all that.

I want some realistic animations for when you gun someone down. Like them grabbing their head, or falling down and reaching out, but when I totally beat the crap out of someone I wanna see them flip backwards limp like I just totally bashed their brains out.

I really loved the occasional glitched falcon punches of Halo 3. Depending if the two character models clipped inside each other when one lunges, the victim would go flying across the map. Those were fun.

Animated deaths are cool and all, but they don’t work so well, ragdoll death is much better, because it forms to the ground, and it doesn’t look bad when you put a grenade next to a dead body and watch dead bodies spin their arms like windmills.

YES!!! HALO4 NEEDS MOVABLE BODIES!!! I loved pushing bodies off platforms in H3 and watching them blow away from grenades.

Animation is cool but should you should earn your kill after 1-2 sec in say an assisnation.

Eh, the ragdoll in halo 2 was pretty bad. you’d get a headshot on somone and they’d almost do a complete backflip. I like reach’s combination of the two.

however i do agree with the second half of that. dead bodies should use ragdoll.

I liked the exaggerated rag doll physics.

I don’t think that had to do with the ragdoll it’s self, but the force each bullet impact cause, or because the weight of the body isn’t right. Plus things have come a long ways from Halo 2.

You are aware that the things you want are in Reach right now? ~-~ Gotta be more observant.

On topic, I like how sometimes you get gunned down and depending on your weapon you like hold it out as if trying to still shoot before dropping it.

Didn’t make much sense but was pretty awesome in my opinion.
