I’ve noticed a massive improvement in my play in the last week and a half, right around the time I switched from a TV to a monitor. My shots are just suddenly hitting, and I believe that I’m close to +500 in just the last two weeks.
What I’m wondering is, is there any way for me to see my kill/death history? What I’m looking for is: on X date you had Y kills and Z deaths.
Maybe the latency on the TV I was playing on was way off from this monitor (which is at 2ms) and that’s why I couldn’t seem to find my shot? I was below a 1.0 k/d two weeks ago and I’ve got to have racked up at least 500 more kills than deaths in just a short time now…
Yup its called response time and input lag. These effect a gamer. I found this out the hardway getting a new tv. If I guessed the monitor you got is a benq used at MLG tournaments because of the fact that they have low input lag , and 2 response time. Response time is how long you’re actions on the controller take to register the tv. Im struggling to find a tv because they do not advertise this. These factors extremely affect Halo but i do not notice it as much in other fps like Call of Duty.
HaloTracker has what you are looking for. They keep a history of a number of stats. Unfortunately, it’s not retroactive, so you will only be able to track day-to-day progress going forward from the day you join.
However, keep in mind that without an API the depth of certain data is extemely limited. Hopefully this will change in the future and 343 will release an API. Though, given 343’s history on stats in general and their opinion on what they bring to the table, I wouldn’t hold my breath on that happening anytime soon.
Thanks for the tip about HaloTracker, Bito, I’ll check that out.
I’m not kidding guys – I can’t tell you what a difference this display change has made for me… Screw the 44" plasmas. My shots are finally hitting where I’m putting them on a screen half the diameter! I’ll take that any day of the week…
