Kill confirmation sound?

I have not kept up to date with all the info for Halo 5 but last time I checked they removed hitmarkers. In the most recent gameplay from Gamescom there are no hitmarkers but the same sound is repurposed for a kill confirmation sound. Was this something we asked for and want or was it something they added because they thought it was necessary like the hitmarker sound previously?

I see hit markers in a Fathom gameplay.

Hitmarkers are still in but the sounds are gone. That was the compromise 343 made when they took the feedback to scale down the hitmarker sounds. That feedback came before the “open” beta period, and as I wasn’t part of the closed pre-beta group I cannot say if that was asked for or not.

I know the visual hitmarkers are still in but now im hearing the hitmarker sound when you kill someone and only then. Was that part of the compromise?

That has been in since the open beta. In the closed beta, players found the noise annoying to hear every time you hit someone, so they used it as a kill confirmation sound instead.

Yes and in my opinion it’s much better and more satisfying

I just can’t stand the squeak at anytime during the game for any reason. Even the sound when shields start to recharge is annoying to me! There are just so many times the game squeaks and if you play with a nice headset like I do its painful.
