While playing SWAT I realized something crucial. Kill Cam is WORTHLESS. It takes the fun out of gaming. I do not want to know where I was specifically killed from. Where is the fun in that? Where is the fun of knowing where the opposing team is and not have to do any searching and adventuring? It reduces the potential of the gaming world.
Agree with the 2 posters above me, however I’ve seen about 10 kill cams since I started playing this game, instinct to immediately hit X is too great - pretty easy to forget kill cams even exist in this game.
I play a bunch of SWAT but if you had told me that kill cams were disabled in SWAT I’d have absolutely believed it.
> Kill cams seem to exist to me only to reduce the ever shrinking skill gap in Halo.
I disagree, it reduces the effectiveness of staying in one location which is something I’m glad of. It closes a skill gap if you feel that camping, and killing campers are techniques that should be a crucial part of skilled combat - so fair enough if that’s what you believe, but I for one am happy to see camping discouraged.
Personally I don’t care whether they are in the game or not, however, if they were more accurate I’d be massively in support of FINAL kill cams.
I find myself torn on this subject. In past Halo games, I would have absolutely despised killcams. If somebody has a Sniper Rifle and are staying hidden, taking out enemy players without giving away his position, why should a killcam show the enemy where he is hiding? If they want to know where the guy is hiding, they should have to figure it out using his sniper trail.
However, with the addition of long-ranged precision weapons like the DMR and Active Camo as an Armour Ability, the amount of campers has risen exponentially in Halo Reach and Halo 4. Since there are so many people who just sit back and hide, I don’t have as many problems with there being a killcam. However, as we’ve all seen, the killcam rarely ever works well in Halo 4, which is a problem.

I agree with this point- and I’m not a camper. I don’t play nearly enough anymore to be effective enough with the sniper rifle and other long range weapons to be a “good” camper even if I wanted to, but it does take a challenge away from the game. I’m not a fan of campers, but I’m a HUGE fan of the satisfaction I get from figuring out were one is and either sneaking or fighting my way to his position and taking him out. There’s just no challenge or strategy in that when there’s a killcam pointing him out. It just further shrinks your gameplay options down closer to the mindless “high-speed-run-and-gun” when one of the main reasons I’ve been a huge fan of Halo multiplayer for so many years was that there were so many different styles that you could use in the game.
The other reason I hate the killcams is, as far as I’m concerned, they’re just one more way that 343i (who I actually do think did a great job overall) tried to copy the Modern Warfare series. I’ve never liked MW, and an admitted Halo fanboy- for the campaign, multiplayer AND canon- and as such I fully believe that Halo should stay Halo. It’s the console-selling juggernaut that it is for a reason, stay true to what made the first 3 games (and specifically, the first 2) fantastic.
> That doesn’t mean it isn’t affecting the game. When people say they hate custom loadouts, do you tell them that they don’t need to build anything over-the-top, too?
Actually, I would just tell them to play Slayer Pro or Legendary Slayer.
Notice the- " I do not want to know where I was specifically killed from. Where is the fun in that? Where is the fun of knowing where the opposing team is and not have to do any searching and adventuring? It reduces the potential of the gaming world."
Simple problem. OP doesn’t like the extra info killcams give him. He’d rather figure things out on his own.
So, simple solution. He doesn’t have to watch them.
> OP is talking about what he personally likes.

Again, not the point.
If OP is in a great hiding spot, picking everybody off with his sniper, him “not watching the killcam” isn’t exactly going to help much, is it?
When put in that perspective, it sounds like nothing more than a crutch for people who can’t be bothered to learn where the enemy is on their own.
“understand”?

Stop putting your words into other people’s mouths.

Who, the OP? I’m using him as an example. Relax.
Or are you talking about the generalization of killcam-supporters? If so, then please. Elaborate. Why do you like killcam? Because the only support I’ve seen on this thread is “it helps me find campers”, which would make it a crutch.
And don’t simply say “don’t like it, don’t watch it”. We both know that’s a terrible excuse.
I like the kill cam. Excellent addition to halo 4. It’s entertaining to watch as you respawn and a good player can use it to gain information about his enemies, not just where they are but how they like to play as well.

Your issues will killcam and his issues with killcam are two entirely different things. I posted a solution to his issue, and you and others tried to shoot me down.
