Okay, Infitinty Slayer is ‘A new twist on the traditional Slayer experience that now allows Spartans to earn points during the course of a match which can eventually be leveraged to call in ordnance from overhead.’
So earning points for ordnance is the point of Infinity Slayer. I’m guessing they chose to have this text appear whenever you do something to notify you how many points you just got. I can’t think of any other reason why it’s there seeing as there’s already text in the bottom left telling you what happens; it just seems unnecessary apart from the number of points that appears (+5 or whatever).
However earning points and personal ordnance does not exist in traditional slayer… and there would be no need for this distracting writing in the middle of the screen.
I think it might be just for Infinity Slayer to tell you how many points you’re getting for whatever you’ve just done and won’t be in other playlists.

It’s hardly huge text. Try playing three player splitscreen where “you killed ____ with a headshot” appears right over your damn reticule. Having tiny tiny text appear above isn’t that bothersome. at all.
if you watch closely in the E3 off screen multiplayer vids (links below), you will see that above your radar and armor ability there is a little cube like symbol, if you recollect your commendations from reach for using heavy weaponry, you will know that it is the ORDNANCE symbol, and the “distracting writing” above your crosshair is showing you exactly how many points you have going towards your ordnance drop. and you will notice that when your bar around your ordnance drop symbol fills you can call in ordnance. hope this helps you in some way.

I know all this. What I’m saying is, in other gametypes there is no points towards ordnance drops so there would be no need for the writing.
Watching some of the gameplay videos I don’t even notice the words in the middle of the screen unless I try to. Nothing really wrong with them if you ask me.

i dont think they will have the points from actions in normal slayer, there is no need

And without the points the whole thing is pointless. There’s no need for ‘Kill’ or ‘Headshot’ by itself when you’re already told that elsewhere on the screen. See?

must be a personal thing then, i never notice it unless i watch it to see if i got an assist

i think you misunderstood (i think).
it will be in the points gametype so you know when you get points for something but i dont think it will be in normal slayer/objective gametypes (first to 50 kills) because the points dont matter. you know if you got a kill because it says you killed him and you know if you got an assist because the medal pops up (same with head shots and other medal worthy actions)

No, I think you misunderstood haha. What you just said is exactly what I meant in the original post: It will be in the points gametype (infinity slayer) but it won’t be in other gametypes (normal slayer + objective)
