> In the Halo 5: Guardians bulletin, there was some reference to the 2014 release date from the Halo: Xbox One trailer. Saying specifically that followers of Waypoint may already have predicted more to be announced at E3. My first thought was that they may be talking about the Halo TV series, or other Halo Live Action shorts. But the way it was described as something we’ll have to wait until E3 to discover, it leads me to imagine we’re looking at something we don’t already know officially about.

> I know what I want it to be, and what many of you probably also want. And that’s the vastly rumoured but constantly (and cryptically) shot down Halo 2: Anniversary.

> Any thoughts or ideas on what to expect at E3? I’m gonna stick to my guns on the idea of a Halo 2: Anniversary revealed. I may be let down if it’s not the case, but I won’t let that stop me from hoping.
Well just like it was obvious that we will get the main Halo 5 in 2015, the rest seems pretty clear. What they showed last year was a teaser for Halo 5. What Bonnie was talking about in relation to continuing the journey in 2014 was indeed Halo 5. The leaked trailer from the E3 2013 did indeed say Halo 5 and not just Halo Xbox One, which it was later changed to.
“But wait Level1, you just said Halo 5 (and it was announced) will release in 2015. WTF? What about Halo 2 AA?”
Halo 2 AA had nothing to do with or any presence at last E3 and that trailer was about Halo 5. We’ll find out next month but most likely what we will get will be either a:
Prologue with a subtitle that has yet to be revealed just like Metal Gear V: Ground Zeroes is a prologue to Metal Gear V: Phatom Pain. It would seem like a sure bet that some setup is needed to bridge Halo 4 to Halo 5 and a prologue could serve that purpose rather than taking up a good chunk of the main game. Plus, lots of people that have been holding off buying an X1 for Halo 5 will get their first shot in 2014. There is a reason for the subtile Guardians rather than just calling it Halo 5.
Or we will be getting, and the most likely scenario, the Halo 5 beta, which will likely run the entire month of December of 2014, helping do its part to give Microsoft the holiday season victory.
As for Halo 2 AA, if we do get a H5 beta you will most likely only be able to get the beta if you buy the limited edition of Halo 2. What better way to propel the sales of a 10 year old game, build hype, and help win Christmas?
Either way Halo is part of the strategy for 2014. Which seems to clearly involve more than just Halo 2 this year.
