No you got it all wrong. It’s called a lazy link because we’re lazy and don’t want to highlight the url.
I was the one who asked about there possibly being more map remakes through DLC(my username on there is blackcyborg), and I honestly wasn’t that satisfied with the answer. It was sort of a non-answer. I was hoping for some sort of hint towards one direction or another, but he basically just said “we may have more remakes in the future”. I’m a bit disappointed with only getting Midship(a map we’ve gotten in 2, 3, and a spiritual successor in Reach), when there’s so many awesome H2 and 3 maps that have yet to be remade.

I’d rather them NOT remake any of the old maps, and rather make new ones. The Forge people can make a remake easy.

This about this.
Also, I wanted to lazy link it, but I was too late.

To each their own, but for me, I like updated versions of maps from the past, that aren’t on the same 3 Forge palettes we’ll be seeing over and over. Remakes through Forge do nothing for me, and I honestly don’t download them. It’s not that they aren’t decently made, it’s that they don’t match the aesthetics and upgrades that you get with an official release. When I play on Terminal, I want a train and the right setting. When I play on Waterworks, I want it to look like Waterworks should. Turf, High Ground, Sidewinder…so on and so forth.
If Midship was remade in Forge, it wouldn’t look and feel like Truth does. Had Avalanche been just a Forged version of Sidewinder…no thanks. An official remake gets all the love and quality from top to bottom, that a regular map should.
I see no issue with remakes being actual maps, not made in Forge. It’s Halo tradition, going back to Halo 2, which had several of them. Giving us 2-3 of them through DLC, I see no harm in it, and it fits right along with the amount we got in Halo 2 and 3(which had 6-5 remakes).

I’m talking about the remakes that they take from the community and put into rotation. I don’t go around and download anything, I don’t play custom games at all, because I find them ridiculous.

That doesn’t change the fact that a remade map in Forge, doesn’t exactly capture the essence and quality that an actual map made by the developers does. There’s a drastic difference between:
Lockout Halo 4 Forge Remake
and
Lockout MCC Official Remake
Halo Reach Sanctuary Remake
and
Sanctuary MCC Official RemakeAnd no, I’m not pointing out the graphical capabilities, because those are different games of course, but there’s a huge difference between an official map remake, and a Forge remake, in terms of unique aesthetics, background/skybox, and new additions made to the map to support new gameplay elements, that you just don’t get in Forge remakes. Sidewinder and Avalanche were 2 different maps. Trying to make a Sidewinder remake in Forge, you may be able to get the pieces in the right spot, but it will still look like a bunch of Forge pieces put together to form shapes, at the end of the day.
It’s in Halo tradition to bring back popular, well received maps from previous games, so I don’t see why Forge changes that. If you played Halo Reach matchmaking, you’ll realize how quickly Forge maps just don’t cut it in comparison to official maps. They can play great, sure, but if they all are on the same 3 canvases, with the same basic shapes etc., with colors instead of textures, it doesn’t have the same effect.
