If we buy the HMC on Xbox One, will we be able to keep all of our saves and profiles and forged content from our 360 versions of the games? I know we won’t keep our Halo 2 ranks because the original servers were shut down, so I don’t expect that, but what about for example Halo 3 and Halo 4 Forge maps and Theater recordings?
I assume keeping our Spartans and ranks for 3 and 4 will be simple because they’re tied to our Microsoft profiles.
It would be awesome to just be able to port them all over with an external hard drive, I’m sure that like me, many of you have several gigabytes of footage and forge content stored up from years of Halo.
343 Industries confirmed in an interview that saved files will NOT carry over from Xbox 360 to Xbox One - this includes ranks.

Aw man that sucks.
I’ll probably skip HMC and wait for Halo 5 then.
I really don’t see what’s so hard about keeping ranks and profiles between platforms.
I know how you feel OP. Personally the ranks don’t matter to me, and from what I know all armor is automatically unlocked for free use. So the only big thing that matters to me is the saved files like maps, films, gametypes, etc. Nobody is going to recreate the more complex Halo 3 maps due to Forge’s archaic building system so the Custom Games community is going to be dead, and 4 never had one due to lack of official support, removed gametypes, and having less options than Reach. The only way to play Customs anymore will be via Halo 2: Anniversary maps.

Seriously? That’s what did it for you? You’re just out because you get to rank up again? I look forward to it.
Also, if it’s not that hard to transfer content across platforms, maybe let the game developers know, I’m sure they’d find that information quite useful.
