Keep up the good work, 343i!

I like the progress you guys have been making as of recently! Keep up the good work!
You guys are great designers, and possess some real talent over there! I love how you always listen to the community, and try to meet its demands, even though sometimes people can be rude and insulting. Thank you for properly communicating the changes you make, and the progress on things such as weapon tuning and Join-in-Progress, it’s greatly appreciated!

Now, on the topic of Halo 4, I’m curious as to how difficult it would be to increase the budget in Forge. I understand that adding the ability to place more objects increases the strain on the lighting engine, especially with the new dynamic shadows in Forge, but is there some way to increase the budget without increasing the strain on lighting? Because if there is, having a bigger budget would be awesome!

What do you guys think? If it were possible, would you like to have a bigger budget?

I also like how they are spot on when it comes to listening to the community. In all honesty I’ve never seen a better dev than 343 when it comes to this. Its because of their exceptional communication with their fan base (both casuals and hard core) that they have been able to continue the legacy of halo and satisfy the masses.

343i, your so knowledgeable in knowing what the halo fans want. After all the daily population of players shows that you’ve been able to retain the essence and feel of what halo is supposed to be.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GUYS!!

> In all honesty I’ve never seen a better dev than 343 when it comes to this. Its because of their exceptional communication with their fan base (both casuals and hard core) that they have been able to continue the legacy of halo and satisfy the masses.

I’m not quite sure if this is meant to be sarcastic or not but I’m actually going to agree with the literal interpretation. I’ve seen devs that are more involved on their forums but because of some limitation or another weren’t able to respond much besides the odd update or bit of DLC that tried to compensate for a deficiency with the shipping game.

343 has taken weapon balancing seriously and back-ended a new system for the express purpose of supporting that all important effort. JIP, visable ranks, Free DLC, more rapid DLC than any other Halo, classic playlists (by which I mean SWAT, Snipers, and Action Sack), an immediate turn-around in Fiesta, later SOPS seasons that made good on a few of the problems in the earlier ones. It’s rather impressive what 343 has done (even if they haven’t put in thing X [ex. classic, balance fixes, and that’s just it] as fast as you would have liked, but that’s a petty complaint anyway).

The only thing I would criticize them for is their disingenuous response to the first DLC release snafu. There’s still a problem with communication, and of trust, but hey on balance those are moot points. The giant height ceiling of Forge Island alone is worth at least three moral transgressions.

I applaud 343 for making efforts to make this game more balanced, and trying to sort out all the complaints us fans have posted on these forums.

I’m still disappointed in their overall objective of creating a game that caters more to the new players than the Halo loyalists, introducing aspects that should have been kept in Call of Duty, and creating a game that does nothing to promote teamwork if you’re playing by yourself. I could list several examples, but maybe for another forum topic.

I’ll continue to play as long as they continue to work towards making this game more playable.

They’re doing better than Bungie did with Halo Reach. I made a thread about this stuff yesterday, actually: https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postsm2479114_About-343-s-Communication.aspx

Seriously? No seriously? No really are you being serious? Honestly? No honestly are you being serious? For real?

Yes, I am being quite serious. I said that they at least TRY to meet the community’s demands. I know they don’t do everything it wants, and can sometimes ignore certain things, but they at least try to meet halfway, and are actually listening to the community, and doing extensive weapon tuning and tweaking Join-in-Progress, which are both things the community asked for. It’s a heck of a lot more than what Bungie did. They may not be doing everything we ask for, but at least 343i is trying. I’d rather have a little progress than none at all.

He’s being sarcastic. And yeah, I’m not saying they’re perfect(I don’t think any developer could be considered perfect), but they’re pretty good at communication and listening to fans. I don’t understand why people think they don’t listen at all. Because of the community, they developed a whole new back-end system, JUST to please the fans. Yet some people are still ungrateful, because what they want would be just shy of an overhaul of the entire game. But I digress. I don’t care what people think about 343i, everybody has to admit that they’re much better than Bungie at communication with fans.

That whole fiasco with the Crimson Map Pack wasn’t really their fault either. Microsoft messed up the distribution, and a lot of people put the blame on 343i, when they don’t even have anything to do with the distribution of DLC. But hey, at least they admitted to the mistake, and even compensated by letting everyone have the DLC for two weeks.

I sometimes wonder if 343 hires people to make posts like these, OP can’t possible be serious, or if he is then he must be 12.

he is just talking out his rear end place, in no way do 343i communicate or listen to fans, or take onboard what we say seriously

> But they’re pretty good at communication and listening to fans. I don’t understand why people think they don’t listen at all.

The only actual communication I’ve seen from i343’s part are the MM system account that roams this forum and posts the “Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate it and take it into consideration” posts in “random” threads. Are they listening? Well it looks like it, but not really to the suggestions.

I’ve seen plenty of suggestion how to balance the DMR with the rest of the sandbox, but from the bulletins they try to do it in the opposite way. They either tested it without saying, or they don’t want to take the suggestions of the community.

> Because of the community, they developed a whole new back-end system, JUST to please the fans.

While it is good that they did, why wasn’t this system developed from the start? I also don’t think they did it to just please the fans.

> But I digress. I don’t care what people think about 343i, everybody has to admit that they’re much better than Bungie at communication with fans.

I actually remember Bungie being better at the communication.

What? I don’t remember them admitting to anything. There was perhaps an employee that told someone over twitter or something similair what actually happened. The official word however was that it was a 14 day free trial of the DLC map pack.

I’m trusting i343 less and less, but I’m still going to post my ideas and possibly maps and stuff when I get to that point.

>

OP is actually 17, and this is my own opinion, I myself feel that 343 is doing a good job, and if you don’t agree, well then, that’s your opinion and I respect that.

>

From your viewpoint, sure. I myself feel that they are doing a good job at listening.

If they communicate “in no way”, then explain to me why they bother posting the Bulletin, and tell us about weapon tuning and changes to matchmaking, JiP, title updates, etc.

Love how most of you disregard the second half of my post and focus only on trying to make me look like an idiot for having my own opinion.

>

Someone has an opinion different than yours?! :open_mouth:

Must call names.

Because it’s obvious HE’S the immature Waypointer that is trolling…

/sarcasm

Look, I really don’t understand what your problem is, and when people like you blindly attack anyone that doesn’t continuously bash 343, it makes me mad.

So please, can’t we all just get along?

>

I won’t stoop to his level and call names. I know some people will use the old “Well this is the internet so deal with it” argument, but still, acting mature really isn’t that hard, on and off the internet.

I really wish we could all get along and respect other peoples’ opinions.

While most of that is based off of what you see, I will admit to my mistake of stating 343 admitting to the DLC fiasco. Still, at least they offered an incentive to those who downloaded the maps, rather the disabling the content outright, or, as some people thought, hand out bans, which I don’t understand how people would think they’d do that, as that would be a rather extreme course of action.

343 constantly back hands you, but you dont notice… JUST LIKE THIS!
