Keep up the armor criticism

Free to play was a mistake.

The customisation system is a joke, do they really think that locking bits and colours to cores is going to keep people satisfied… don’t be another EA, please don’t 343.

It’s probably why they decided to make the multiplayer aspect of the game separate from the campaign. Halo Infinite: Campaign may not have microtransactions, but because Halo Infinite: Multiplayer isn’t a part of it they’re technically not lieing. When they said it was going to be a more expansive system than reach I was expecting more than this. It seems like they’re trying to nickle and dime every aspect of the customization they created.

Cores just should restrict armor mixing, period

Oof, I meant to type *SHOULDN’T. Cores should not restrict armor mixing.

Dont worry i uderstood lol

I’ve tried my best to say this. I knew a long time ago that these cores would be different sets and certain armours and colours would be locked to those sets. In youtube, halowaypoint comments anywhere ive tried to tell people this. I just want to mix and match what I want

As I said, I’m not making excuses for the games issues, but I will continue to call out people misrepresenting this issue every time I see it. Implying or stating that you are being ripped off by a requirement to purchase premium content in a game you paid for is completely false (which is what the comment I replied to did), the game and every playable aspect if it is free. That there are issues that need addressing doesn’t excuse people lying or spreading their own poor understanding of those issues to trump them up.

Regarding Warframe, I think you lack an objective view on that game. The entire reason Warframe has such a transient player base is because if you approach without a “sherpa” or heavy use of community made guides, you will know absolutely nothing about the market or alternative means to earn Plat. This has been something critics have leveled at the game for years as its biggest issue and cause for what is effectively one of the best sci-fi action games available having a much smaller player base than it really should. The game has zero training wheels and that puts the player in a position where they feel they need to buy Plat to even play the game past its first two planets. Again, these are long standing criticisms, and if you’re going to compare the games to each other you need to compare them as is, not based off of what one is due to heavy (and frankly outstanding) community support.

That all being said I don’t disagree in the least that when approaching FTP that 343i should have been looking at everything on the table and taking positive and negative aspects from competitor approaches into consideration while coming up with their battlepass, and honestly I think they did. Warframe’s or Anthems level of customization is phenomenal, but its completely off-brand for Halo so why would they consider it? I read these feedback posts) not yours specifically) and you’d swear every past Halo game gave use a character creator suite to rival that of a Bethesda title, instead of the franchise norm that was primary and secondary colors applied to completely pre-made and unchangeable models/accessories.

343i should be taken to task for cosmetics being as restrictive as they currently are, it’s a poor approach to getting people to buy into anything premium. But a total overhaul of the customization system or demanding that there should be even more free content in this already completely free multiplayer game is just this side of unreasonable.

Nothing is going to change and I HOPE NOTHING CHANGES, The Halo community asked for this and had every chance to prevent this all from happening from when it was announced.
Lets not forget that the Halo Youtubers had a part in this as well, from overseeing the multiplayer and Campaign a whole year before everyone had the chance to touch it… Before the first 2 Halo Infinite Insider programs / “ Alpha “ Builds.
This game was designed for “ Pro “ players / esports first before the typical Halo and casual player.
Say what you want, but the fact that the Halo community thought they knew better than 343 Industries is what Killed Halo.
Halo Infinite is basically Fortnite and COD, Skins and weapon ornaments.
SMH -_-

Literally no one asked for this, we asked for more options and variety, this isn’t it.

Hahaha this is corporatism, not capitalism.

I noticed you have to dig into the helmet to picket helmet attachments for some reason, and I have something like a brim attachment, but I don’t know if it’s what you mean.

Im not reffering to the game itself when I mention a specific part of its systems. just because of all that extra stuff being there it doesn’t erase the point being made, that being objectively its better than our current system for colour customisation.

While important that’s not gonna work with people as you see in this page they take this as actually hurting it when in reality it doesn’t

The original reach has it coupled with the UA armor variant for mk.V B. The MCC did not carry over every armor perfectly, they cut stuff like the brim under the UA armor upgrade. In the Reach beta it was only the brim and not coupled with the UA upgrade and it looked sharp “wink”. Similar to the HI Commando helmet has a FC-I/Fasia attachment in the 3rd slot.

I see now. Thank you for the explanation and sorry to hear that for you.

It’s absolutely ridiculous as of right now but where will we be in a year I hope things will be better and addressed customization and gameplay wise. Everytime they change something like no player collisions they makes things worse. Stick with a tried and true formula and improve on it don’t change fundamentals.

It sure isn’t to express myself. And I do stick to a basic, cheap wardrobe.

Nobody cares what your spartan looks like, and nobody can glean anything about who you are as a person based on how your spartan looks. Cosmetic elements are not forms of expression, they’re forms of vanity, of how you want other people to see you, not expressing who you are.

Putting on a suit to a meeting or a tux to a formal event is not expression, it’s social custom. And it’s stupid and nonsensical.

Actions, i.e. gameplay, is true expression because you don’t consider how your actions will be interpreted, you simply act based on who you are as an individual. It’s possible, even likely, that someone else’s spartan looks identical to yours, but nobody alive will play exactly like you do. Gameplay is the most powerful form of expression that exists in video games, and potentially all of art and media, because it’s a direct, moment-to-moment reflection of who you are as an individual.

Which is exactly why I need to speak up, because if you clowns are left to provide all the feedback, this game will be dead within a year.

If you don’t see the irony after calling me stupid and then writing that load of drivel, then I see no reason to engage with you at all.

And no, the game is the system of rules, mechanics, challenges, etc. with goal and failure states, and measurable outcomes that are negotiable through the application of skill, or a factor of luck.

You don’t understand game design well enough to have this conversation.
