halo community, how many times have you disliked a ft playlist? me? many. however, for every 10 or more ppl whom hate a gametype, theres one tryhard who lovvves it

superfiesta. first week, not my thing. yet now its a staple social playlist. and i now like it forwarmup games.
the other is oddball.
a well established PL that has been in halo for yeeeeeears. we get the OT update. cool. weget oddball. JOYOUS. we get BR gunfighter starts.
BAD -Yoink-. different. experimentive. engaging.
what happens. mid season. goooone. and zero corrilation between feedback and result.
point is, if 343 put up plasma pistols only n no abilitys,
somone somwhere, would love it. that person/group, has a right to have fun and play theier fav aspect of halo.
plus. the comunity is down in a time when connecting is easy as F. 343 need to retain any fan they have.

Well, I suppose you have a point. Keep a playlist even if only one person plays it, which means he can’t ever get a game. But at least he’s happy it’s there.
It makes sense I mean I’m sure there’s a reason that we don’t understand but it would make sense just to have a pool of playlists to play in. That’s why I liked reach. There were so many things to play even though I played 4 at most. But it was nice to give me that choice. And everyone was relatively happy
Population isn’t strong enough to support a lot of playlist. If a very select few like a unpopular game type they could and should use the custom game browser and set it up.

Shotty snipes isn’t “popular enough” to be kept as a perm. playlist?
I beg to differ. There’s room for variety. We as the community just need to ask for a certain playlist to be permanent.

There have been a few more complaints lately about “unable to match” in the regular playlist so why spread the population even thinner by adding more playlist?

Currently, the problem with “unable to match” is hidden MMR related in most cases.
Yes, there are a few out-liars (like WZA) but I doubt adding a popular playlist would do that much damage.
What really bothers me is how staples like Oddball and Assault got shunted in newer games. Oddball used to be my favorite behind infection and not being able to play it makes me want to play less, in general. Who cares if a playlist isn’t that popular? It’s not like there’s population counters anyway. With the exception of some featured playlists, all playlists from every game should be available in some capacity. If a player only plays the game for a certain game mode, taking away that game mode also takes away that player.

I think people often forget that they reason the rotational playlists get so many players is simply because they are rotational. If, for example, shotty snipes was made permanent, it’s novelty would soon wear off and people would want something different. Rotating these playlists helps keep their populations up.
Doe anyone actually play action sack ? Why can’t we have a playlist with all these popular game types in and get rid of action sack and replace it with a playlist that includes all these popular games …

I think the current reasoning is that with such a low population on certain playlists, players have a very difficult time finding games, so removing these playlists forces the player to move to more viable playlists which still need attention. The problem is, what if that unpopular playlist is the only reason the gamer is still playing Halo 5?

No way you evil man , poor noobs . This is where some transparency on total population ( like halo reach ) of halo 5 might be useful? I’ve tried action sack a few times but there are game types I really don’t enjoy and no rotation to it making it feel stagnant to me anyway. Maybe I’m just one of the few that don’t play it or enjoy it but if we’re looking at playlists to add and remove we should look at everything.

Something tells me that when Halo 6 (or equivalent) comes out, all gamemodes will be available on the spot all at once. It’s true that some gamemodes will have more players than others, but it’ll be nice to have more variety.
I’ve always been in support of keeping playlists even if near empty. I play MLG on Reach with 15 players every now and then. Furthermore removing the reason I play (a playlist I like) just means I’m quitting the game rather than going to a different playlist just to benefit those who do like that playlist. Why would I give up what I like to play something I don’t? I saw the very case in H5 when they dropped social skirmish to add more #s to team arena. What if I don’t want to play ranked? That was the very argument people used when mentioning their unhappiness about that mess. You can argue more numbers are more important but numbers mean little to me as I don’t mind playing the waiting game and checking back in later. That is why dropping playlists is a poor idea, you lose players who lost their playlist and will refuse to support the others. Furthermore if they didn’t play the other playlists in the first place, why would they jump in once their own mode is scrapped? You drop that MLG mode in Reach with 20 players and I’m most likely not playing it again. “If” I was still playing H5 and 343 dropped team arena, you most likely would’ve seen me drop the game. It’s a case of forcing players to go elsewhere when they don’t want to to begin with.
As for rotational playlists:I don’t mind them unless it’s halo 5. Halo 5 uses so many modes that were their own playlists in the past in the rotation. When I then see people say it’s to keep their “novelty” then I see a problem. When was snipers a novelty when it was an always there mode? Oddball? Being on rotation doesn’t just make them “special” when we used to have them to play at all times. It does the opposite. I despised the rotational playlists as if they were permanent then you’d see me play more. I have no interest to play for a week, wait a month and then play a week again. Instead I’ll be on mcc where these things are always there Having a halo 3 throwback in the rotation is one thing but sniper, oddball, assault, fiesta(before it became its own playlist) is just laughable to me. There’s a reason playlist variety was an issue when this game launched and the rotational crap just fueled it.
