Keep "no join in progress" in warzone from turbo

During the Warzone Turbo weekend of 2017, 343 made sure to prevented players from joining in a game in progress so that they wouldn’t have a bad experience. Now the days of Warzone Turbo is gone (for now) and we’re playing regular Warzone again, 343 should added the prevention of join in progress in all Warzone game modes (except Firefight) as I’m sure that many of us have joined into a a losing or farmed game before. Although as many players leave, the team would eventually becomes smaller, thus leaving the remaining players without a team. To make sure that they don’t suffer, 343 should also add a Mercy Rule system similar to Destiny. This Mercy Rule would work when the team is around the size of a 4-man Team Slayer team or when the team is getting farmed really hard with no chance to fight back. Do you think this is a good idea or not?

I highly doubt the 343 would add this to the game…

So pretty much as soon as one person leaves at the beginning of a game, because this always happens, the game is over. Your team is at a disadvantage, no one can join and more of your team will probably quit leaving you to risk the ban or suffer through a 20 or so long match.

Kinda curious as to why you posted this since Turbo is gone. Probably won’t be back for a while

No jip guarantees a poor wz experience when the quitting begins. With jip I may or may not be able to turn things around. I prefer jip. It is unlikely that they would develop a mercy rule at this point. I did notice that lately teams are not substituting as quickly, not enough players, independent of them turning it off.

It’s got so bad that in one of my turbo matches, we were 12v2. Yes the whole other team left. No one was replaced. However I guess in that situation, putting someone new in to a losing game will only make them quit realising how low their stakes are at winning.

I say keep the no jip but im not too keen on a mercy rule

I have joined into games that were loosing where the poor sports and bad players bailed early and we have completely turned the game around and won. In fact … I love doing that because its a much more satisfying victory. A huge issue I see within the community is that people should STOP confusing warzone with a social match like arena. It is not a social gaming situation it is a WARZONE. If you begin to loose stop running straight into the “farming”, fall back and regroup… its your OWN fault you get farmed not the winners. People leave their teams to defeat because they have no sense and no team attitude, they are selfish and immature. I am pro JIP and do not agree with this idea.

Not a good idea, playing multiple players down is painful. A Mercy Rule, as described, would not help 8v12, for example. It’s better to replace missing players.

More appropriate, in my opinion, would be to discourage quitting more effectively (either worse punishments for quitting, or increased bonus for finishing/joining in progress). People may argue that the gametype itself encourages quitting, as the winning team is often apparent in the first 5 minutes of a 20 minute match.

And people hated that in Turbo because when people inevitably leaves, you’ll be snowballed into a bigger disadvantage

JIP is doubled sided, ultimately someone is screwed with or without it. I don’t understand the struggle to make these playlists permanent.

I went into warzone turbo with a friend and he lagged out. He tried to join back and he did. This counts as a JIP right?

That happened to my friend too, I was really confused. Thank god it works that way though.

Honestly I don’t understand why they’d take out JIP for Turbo. Especially since EVERYONE starts out with lv 9 REQs. There’s no excuse for someone not being able to contribute immediately.
