Keep military organizations out of Halo

I like in general military. But i don’t have respect for an military that is trying with ESports or gaming and streaming. Do I have to remind you that even Twitch, a money grinding machine, told US military to stop sharing fake prizes? Like “here is an reward” and the link you clicked sended you to an recruiting page.

And that is predatory recruiting and there is nothing to respect about.

Also military in Sci-Fi is still fiction. Military here is RL. Know the difference

Even if some people might disagree, or be upset about the opinion of OP that’s no reason for OP to not voice his opinion. If anything it’s more of a reason why he should voice it. Americans especially know, or should know that freedom of speech is important, and is a critical foundation of their own country.

Unless it’s someone from the Twitter crowd I’d be surprised to see someone blow up over an opinion like, OP’s.

Listen dude , I’m Asian and I talk a lot crap about the US military given their recent stunts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

However if it wasn’t for the sacrifice of thousands of lives of US service members in ww2 . Your entire continent would be getting bum f****d by a dude with a short mustache . Bye.

The US didn’t want to enter the war though, they sat around idle until the Japanese attacked without reason - which was the downfall of the Germans.

The UK, US and Soviet armies were the 3 main pillars of success, without any one of these it was over for everyone in one way or another.

@Dein_Exfreund, are there any specific examples within the game you’re referring to? I’d like to know more about why you feel the way you do so I can understand your position better.

Personally, I see no problem with the game having a military centered theme based on continual conflict. I wasn’t aware that the game was being used as a potential recruitment tool, although it wouldn’t surprise me if that was the case.

Though I will say that it is only natural for certain themes within a game to mimic ‘real life’ given the fact that ‘real life’ is where a lot of fiction writers draw inspiration from. Militarism is one of the core themes, and continuous combat is a linchpin of the ‘Halo Universe’, especially in regards to the slogans: “Join the Fight” or “Finish the Fight.” I don’t think you could ‘water down’ the military themes without taking away from ‘Master Chief’ or what made ‘Halo’ great in the first place.

This is getting a bit out of the wheelhouse of a video game forum
