Keep in mind, no one asked for a free multiplayer

Youre hyperfocusing on minute details and not looking at the bigger picture here bud.

Theyre both scummy business practices, one scummy business move isnt any better than another.

You have to keep the argument focused dude. Credibility is lost when comparing to something that isn’t even the same. And I literally agree with everything you’re saying too.

My hope for 343 is they implement a way for us to earn credits in game, so people who want to buy from the shop they can, but players who invest time into the game can also get the stuff without spending money. If 343 let us earn credits in game, I would be more inclined to spend 40-50$ every now and then for some new armors. But seeing how everything in the store costs over 1000$, I think I’ll pass. Battle pass is all I’ll really spend my money on

My comparison stands- its unfortunate that you dont see how

Pay-to-win is not the same as “pay-to-dress pretty”

I hate to say it, but the F2P model is also great to bring in hoards of cheaters. And they’re already here. First game I played last night was against a cheater. Had to go back and watch the replay and wouldn’t you know it, wall hacks + aimbot. Really sad and only going to get worse.

Like I said earlier and am repeating again, within the context of the rest of the Halo series, it is just as predatory to paywall “looking pretty” as it is to put vehicles and weapons behind slot machines.

When you can literally spend 50$ and get legendary reqs which you can use in game, might I also add, in PVP. That is called “Pay-to-win” and it affects core gameplay elements of Halo which has always been fair and even games /starts.

Cosmetics behind a paywall is not affecting gameplay, or the “core” mechanics of PVP. It is still wrong, but it is a lesser of two evils.

We can agree to disagree anyways

No one spent spent years going for achievements and armors just for the gameplay bud

Speak for yourself lmao.

Why aren’t all of your spartans the default spartan

No Free Too play better than buying full priced game
Tell what’s better spending $1000 on armour. Or Full priced game that you only have to pay for once.

Hey another random tangent! Threads and topics like these are worthless to even continue honestly. Pointless to no end.

I asked you a question

I have every achievement in every Halo game. Didn’t do it for the cosmetics

Instead of unlocking stuff with cool in-game challenges now we have the privilege of paying $1035 to unlock everything or or spending months and months grinding. Oh boy. Fun. What happened to “putting the player first” as 343 had been saying up to this point?

Youre not the only one playing Halo bud

Why aren’t you wearing default armor on all of your spartans

It brings in new players, then they leave shortly after. The turnover rate is far higher with F2P games. And those who stay either spend 100s or (spend little and/or) get addicted by trying to complete challenges every day because “free” progression is always super-ultra slow. It begins to feel like a job that you repeatedly log in to receive awards or fear slower progression… eventually, burn out occurs and the players move to another F2P game.

I’m not. Halo Infinite I’m not wearing default armor

But that isnt so for the other Halo games

Why?

Putting it in the gamepass is basically “Free to play”

If you buy 12 months of gold at 33 USD and convert them to ultimate game-pass with the 1 $ “dollar” trick. Basically you pay 2.75 dollars per month sorry that is Free-to-play

The same thing happened to GEARS 5, being in the ultimate gamepass is “semi-free”. I do not like free to play multiplayers because they are infested with “Non-Fans” of the saga and those people only come to browse, not to play seriously.
