Hello, I keep getting booted when trying to get into a matchmaking game online… it takes me back to the start menu, or says everyone has left game and keeps searching, and keeps doing that… anyone else having this issue? I have tried uninstalliong, and reinstalling, clearing the system cache, restting my router, unplugging my router and all the cables, and waiting for several minutes, redownloading my profile, and have called x box live multiple times, with no fix. any ideas or suggestions on how to resolve this?
I am not an expert but it doesn’t sound like an issue with installing or doing anything, it may just be a simple NAT or connection issue so the game is struggling to connect you to any other players for matches and takes a while
OP, i have experience the same problem multiple times, and my NAT is open so it can’t be that, i believe its part due to my crappy internet and part due to Halo 4’s Netcode, i am not an expert on this subject so these are just my guesses and opinions.
Although the wierd thing i recently found out is that when im on halo 3, it says my NAT is not Open. But on halo 4, it says my NAT is Open. I don’t understand how can this be possible?.. do anyone have any idea as to why that is the case? Thanks in advance for any info or help.
P.S.
OP, sorry i wasnt much help but good luck!

use the xbox live connection testing to test your NAT type, never leave it up to games to tell you, they are unreliable and your Nat likely could not be Open if games give you different results

First of all, Thanks but how do you use xbox live testing to find out is your NAT open or not?
I just went to Network settings on my xbox and choose “Test Xbox LIVE Connection” and the results showed nothing related to NAT at all, it just told me that my Network, Internet, and Xbox LIVE are “Connected”. And then shows me my Service, Xbox stores, Accounts, and Matchmaking are “Up”. That’s it
P.S.
I’m going to bed soon, so i will check/post back here tomorrow. good night

sounds fine then, if you have a NAT Issue it would tell you when you test connection.
I honestly don’t know what your issue is other than a related connection issue, sorry I really am not an expert

Yea it’s frustating when it happens, just last night, i got dropped twice, one time everyone is gone except me and an enemy player in h3 ts, it lagged the whole game but when it was just me and 1 last enemy player, our connections were crisp until the very end.
Maybe in this case it was a cheater or not, but getting dropped happens to me so so often, it can’t be always cheaters, there has to be my connections.
Anyways, thanks for your inputs. Have a good day
Sounds like connection issues. Have you tried other games with similar results or is this only happening on Halo 4? If you can try bypassing the router all together and connect straight to your modem and see if the problem remains. If not you should check to see if your router is up to date on firmware or possibly get a new one.
@MAGUS75 maybe this can help you:

Try borrowing another H4 disk from a friend and see if it works on your setup. Your disk may be scratched or has a laser burn.
