Keep forge maps out of multiplayer

Well what do you think? I think we should just keep forge maps out of multiplayer but leave it in one gametype ? Vote!

And please, don’t ship a Forge Map with the game that took 3 hours to make.

Forge community maps should be in their own playlist. Halo 3 had one, why not Reach?

We wanna play legit maps and not forged ones that don’t look as good or whatever.

Exactly. There should be no more than one [or two] variant from each forge map in a playlist, otherwise it gets boring and repetitive.

I support the addition of Forge maps in matchmaking. It’s a great way to get the community involved in the matchmaking process, and it breathes a slight breath of fresh air into multiplayer when the default maps start to grow stale.

With the (hopefully) new forge, 343i will give forgers more than enough tools to create awesome maps, and they certainly will learn from the mistakes previous Halo titles made. It’s inevitable that, no matter if they’re forge or default, maps will grow old. That’s why I’d replace forge maps in matchmaking every few matchmaking updates, that way forge maps are still in the game, and it still feels fresh.

Well we don’t know if the new forge will be able to add textures to objects or not, or whether we’d be able to shape environments. That would be a vast improvement from Reach’s grey palette and limiting structures, and some great maps may be able to be created with it.

I think there needs to be a higher standard for forge maps that are implemented though. Many Reach forged maps were broken or just plain terrible.

I think there should be a certain playlist called “forge playlist” or something. But no forge maps at all in the core multiplayer playlists. And in that “farge playlist”, there it has its own gametypes and what not. And something cool would be if when you go to the “forgeplaylist”, the newest added forge maps should be featured somewhere.

Well we don’t even know if there is a forge mode in Halo 4, and assuming their is due to the success of past forge modes, we have no idea how the forge mode of Halo 4 will work. It could have qualities you want in your online maps.

Do it like gaming in 2004, ranked playlists with default maps and a custom game browser where you can get your fix of games from hyper-competitive to extremely casual, with mods galore.

Really,I think they should keep the Forge maps in multiplayer.Period.All the Forge maps I played in multiplayer I like, except for maybe one or two maps.I’m just that kind of person. But I DO wish that maps had some good textures and such,so it won’t become boringafter you play it for the upteenth time.

I would love to see forge maps in matchmaking. Forge is a great way to add new additional content and to keep matchmaking fresh.

We also need a playlist dedicated completely to community made maps, and improved tools/features to streamline the process for submitting content to the community playlist. Halo 3 used to have the Atlas group where you could submit maps, but it was very poorly maintained and hardly supported at all by Bungie. Reach got even less support for community made maps with the transition of support from Bungie to 343i.

why hate on forged maps. some of them are better than regular maps.

If they play better than the default rubbish in the game (very likely) then yes, they should be in matchmaking.

No forge maps, thats one of the main reasons MP in reach pissed me off.

Im not the biggest fan of fan made maps… But i dont think they should be taken out altogether.

However a better filter system would be nice. Because we really do have some crap maps in cycle at the moment.

What if they play really well?

Ok, let me reiterate, if they are well designed maps, that are not a giant wall of gray. Thats what pissed me off about the maps in reach, walls of gray , EVERYWHERE. But if they are in matchmaking, please, put them in their own playlist. Like community.

So you need all dem pretty colours do you?

Perhaps hello kitty island adventure would be more to your liking.

For the last time, MATCHMAKING =/= MULTIPLAYER.

Hopefully 343i comes to their senses and adds a proper Custom Games Browser and a real map editor to Halo 4, so we won’t have to worry about playlists.

First of all, it depends on weather Halo 4’s forge will look boring, grey, blocky, and just plain dull or not. Second of all, it depends on weather the forged maps are good or not. Most of the forge maps we have in Reach are shallow and ugly.

Give Halo 4’s forge a go before you say you don’t want forged maps in Matchmaking.

And an other thing, the maps that get put into Reach Matchmaking are not always the best maps, trust me. There is always a better map.
