PLEASE READ THIS: I’ve been working on this post for a while, gathering info from the halo community here on waypoint and from halo YouTubers like The Act Man and Late night halo. I’m here to sweep up everything that the Halo community as a whole has been begging for in one long forum post and I source a lot of this from the video “Why Is Halo Declining And What Can You Do?” Made by The Act Man. At the Halo 5’s launch, we got 7 total gamemodes… SEVEN. When the first halo 5 update came in November, it gave us our 8th mode. When BTB came out, we got no developer made maps. With this is became crystal clear that 343 had anticipated that Warzone would succeed BTB. But because of the uproar that we made, BTB returned, albeit in a very small and empty form. If we want to change something, we have to be loud and clear, we have to be the itch that constantly reminds 343 and Microsoft of what we want. We have to be loud and present all throughout the development of halo 6 so that 343 and Microsoft cannot look anywhere without seeing us and what we want to make halo better. Remember that we hold all the cards, if we decide to not buy halo, then 343 and MIcrosoft have no audience, they have no PROFIT, no MONEY. In order to make Halo the best it can be, we need…
- A game worth $60 at launch. It needs to be complete with the gamemodes that shipped with EVERY other Halo game, fileshare and it must be relatively bug free (Which halo 5 was)
-Split Screen. I have 2 brothers who love halo and I want to be able to tackle campaign with them and a friend. A lack of split screen was a turnoff for a lot of people (Including one of my friends)
- A working Forge that is part of the game on day one. Halo 5’s forge is phenomenal, make sure that we get that quality in Halo 6’s Forge.
- A competent story, when I first got into halo with Halo 3, I understood the premise of the story, who the bad guy was and how he needed to be stopped. Halo 5’s story still baffles me. To understand a story, a person should not have to use a lot of outside material to understand a story. Outside material should be used to expand the understanding of the story.
- Evident throughout Halo 5 are signs of bad decisions, lag, UI, ranking and the ever notorious “Retrieving Data.” Microsoft needs no recognize what fans want, not what a billion dollar company THINKS its fans want.
- We all love Halo dearly and we need to agree on one thing (For the most part) If we can mostly agree on one thing we want, then Microsoft and 343 have no choice, but to give us what we want, and if the don’t, it looks bad in their part. (No sprint, Sprint, Lack of “Skill” with automatic weapons, and Smart Link, Etc.)
We all hold the power to change what Halo is and can be. If we are vocal about what we want for Halo 6 while it is still in very early development, it can be saved from what held back Halo 4 and 5. Halo still has the power to be great again, we are never going to see another Halo 3, but halo can still be the Juggernaut it once was.

Honestly if they just copied and pasted how Halo 3 did its ranking, playlists and rules Halo 5 would have been way better off.

I think so too, but while halo 5 is a good game, it has some glaring things holding it back, its time to think about how to prevent halo 6 from suffering the same fate.

Well for starters make it fun 343 seems to take Halo way to seriously and Halo 5 has suffered for it. Halo 6 needs to have a file browser at launch, actually btb maps get rid of warzone, and honestly delaying forge for five was the right cal for how big the overhaul was.

I just don’t enjoy the competitiveness of halo 5, its in your face 24/7
Due to current events, I felt like I should bring this back.
Boycott is one of effective ways to affect 343 and Microsoft. The thing is it’s hard to boycott.

I feel like enough of Halo waypoint is angry enough to do so unless something gets done.

Not all Halo buyers are from here. There are non-Halo fans who just purchase Halo. Even though they lose their fan base, they will still make profit.

But not nearly as much as the would normally. Call of Duty infinite warfare is a perfect example of what happens when you don’t listen to what your community wants, they get some money, but that amount is minescule compared to what could have been if they had listened. I feel like 343 wants to make a good halo game, but Microsoft is the one pulling the strings “you have to have sprint”, “you have to have micro transactions” Every decision 343 makes has to be run through Microsoft first, and that is where the real evil lies.
