Keep Bloom for Automatic Weapons?

Don’t really see how this could be a problem. But you tell me. Should it? Why not?

NOOOOO- oh, wait? Automatics? Eh, sure, why not?

Cool.

as long as i don’t have bloom on my BR/DMR/whatever weapon it is and my skill isn’t overcompassed by randomness i could care less if the AR has a bloom.

Really not sure where I stand on bloom at all.

It seems to work to really well for automatic weapons though! It really encourages burst fire if you firing at someone from a larger distance.

I vote yes

Bloom in its current form works well when it comes to automatics. But it sucks on the precision weapons.

> Bloom in its current form works well when it comes to automatics. But it sucks on the precision weapons.

This.

Only automatics.

If bloom could be used so that burst fire could make automatic weapons more effective at longer ranges, I’d be all for it, but it needs to stay away from the precision/semi-auto weapons.

No.

We are 1,500 lb. SPARTAN III’s.

Gun barrels don’t increase in size as they are fired, unless it is something along the lines of an M60E3 Light Machine Gun, fired continuously at more than 200 rounds. An M249 SAW at 500 rounds.

Bloom is simply unrealistic, even possibly in real life if you took the weight of SPARTAN armor into account.

Bloom -Yoink-

lol?

Bloom has always been present in Automatic weapons. It’s what makes them more suited for close and close-medium ranges. If Automatic weapons had no bloom, they could kill people at the range of DMR and Sniper, just without the zoom or headshot capacity.

AR, SMG, PR and Spiker, come on man, why else is their reticle larger as compared to other non-power weapons like the DMR and BR?

> NOOOOO- oh, wait? Automatics? Eh, sure, why not?

I’ve become so chafed by anti-bloom users that when I read this, I couldn’t help but continue the thought with “it’s not like I use those anyway.”

Bloom has always been a part of automatic weapons, is my understanding. I think that it should stay because it’s a crucial balancing feature. If the weapons don’t have accuracy, they’re useless – so they start with some and lose it with spam. That way they don’t prove more useful than precision weapons, but they still can be used at the longer ranges in makeshift quality. That’s a fine paradigm until a better one is used. I have a couple in mind, but I have a feeling 343 Industries is going to go classic with Halo 4.

I am referring to the bloom in Reach. CE, 2, and 3 had perfect ‘bloom’ as you refer to it. (A.K.A. Spread)

Bloom has always been in Halo, but in Reach it’s just annoying as hell.
Removing it from precision weapons would be a great step.

I am a bit less against bloom on automatic weapons however. But maybe have weapons behave more differently. For instance, a two-handed AR should have some minor bloom (which would be completely logical) but a dual wielded SMG for instance, should have recoil in my opinion.

bloom doesn’t really affect the ar when they run at you for 3 seconds shooting then whack you in the face

No bloom, or all bloom. How is an automatic going to beat anything if all precision weapons don’t have bloom?
That or give the autos bloom and buff the hell out of them.

Yes because seven foot super soldiers wearing 1,500 lb armor is SOOOOO realistic…

An AR with no bloom would be… Rather unbalanced… This is due to its static reticle size… The gun would be insanely accurate without something like bloom or spread to counter it.

Sure, might as well visualize what 343 is going to do behind the scenes anyway.

Just leave precision weapons alone.

Wtf LOL! It’s called cadence, have you never played a previous Halo?

Obviously they’re not going to just let you shoot precision weapons like an AR.

I know that non visual bloom aka spread has always been in Halo, I was just talking about the visual representation of bloom.

Well, since this game takes place in 2552…super soldiers would’ve been possible by then.
