I really don’t like how 343 changed armor colors. I guess they changed it because the game is F2P now. The next logical step for armor colors in halo should have been to allow players to color individual pieces of their armor. Making players choose from a preset of armor coating schemes sucks, it’s a step backwards. 343 you should consider allowing players to color individual pieces of their armor with whatever colors they want. I’m not saying to get rid of armor coating but to have the two stick around. Why not let Individual Armor Color Choice co-exist with Armor Coating, just make really distinct armor coatings that are enticing to players.
I do think that it wouldn’t be that hard to allow players to customize their armor using the same base colors we have always had. To me personally, I think this whole coatings and colors issue is so overblown and boring, I have played as a blue and white spartan since halo 2 (even though white didn’t exist and I was just light gray), and I just cannot bring myself to care about whether or not there will be that option day one in Infinite. It just doesn’t matter to me that much. However, I don’t want to feel like some people just get stiff armed here, so yes, I do think 343 should, at the very least, offer an armor coating for each color that came before, even if it isn’t very customizable. I do think that, given a couple seasons and a few months of playing, most people will find coatings they really like and want to use, and this will be a nonissue, but we will see.
