KDA Spread - How does it work?

Has anybody figured out the calculating of KDA spread yet?

You divide the kills and deaths…durrrr. I have 640 kills and 327 deaths. That means my Kd is 1.95.

If if you’re wondering about the skull next to the kills and deaths, I believe that is how many head shots you average a game. Mine says 8.0 under the skull. Obviously 640 kills and 327 deaths isn’t a 8.0 kd

We have top men working on it right now.

KDA counts the assists as well, hence why there is an A

‘KDA Spread - How does it work?’

Badly.

I’m not sure how it works but this certainly isn’t it. The number isn’t average head shots… It’s a ratio between kills deaths and assists. To paraphrase the OP, does anyone know how the KDA ratio works? How is it calculated?

Been wondering this myself. When I first got started and subsequently wrecked (as I learned the controls while fighting demon cyborg ninja children) my assists padded out my kills, meaning my KD spread was better than it should have been.

I think I like it. I think… Still not sure of the mathematics of it.

Yeah my friends and I did some simple math, and it is NOT (K+A) / D, so we have no idea.

It works by making noobs feel like they are actually good because they see that 2.0 KDA and think it is the equivalent of a 2.0K/D

I thought the number it gave was your average spread per game, so the skull = (Total Kills - Total Deaths) / # of Games Played

That is good actually - better than a 1.0 KDA. It’s not the same as a 2.0K/D, but Halo has always been about Kills, Deaths AND assists. It’s about time assists had some recognition

Uhh you’re talking about K/D not KDR, durrr. Next time you’re gonna condescend to someone make sure you are right.

Could it be this?

[(K - D) + (1/4 x A)] / Games Played = Skull Number

The 1/4 is just an estimate because I don’t think assists would be weighted as heavily as kills. It works on my stats, just wondering if it did for anyone else…

SO here what i have seen. 10 Kills/ 10 Deaths = 1 Right? What i have noticed, is that it gives me a 0.0 when i have the same number of deaths and kills. So i have no idea how this works.

This.

K-D, then *A then / by length of -Yoink-. That is why my KDA is so low.

So it says my kda spread is -0.5

so since my stats are 190 Kills, 180 Assists, 216 Deaths and 19 Games played

So the formula would be

((K+(A/3))-D/GamesPlayed

((190+(108/3))-216/19

=0.5

Seems about right :stuck_out_tongue:

Well this is an old forum, but I just figured it out while looking for an answer. It’s (K+.5A)/D I believe. Basically an assist counts as half a kill.

This is dated, but the actual formula for KDA (Kills, Deaths, Assists) is: (K+(A/3)-D)/Games Played).

So, Kills + (assists divided by 3) - deaths / games played. Assists basically count as 1/3 of a kill.

I prefer kda to kd. Thanks for the math!
