yeah console is different sadly. Its because console have vertical sync on and that contributes to the high input delay. On pc this is not the issue and gives pc contoller players a huge advantage. What 343 should be doing is buffing aim assist on console and nerfing it on pc because of the different application settings in place. This is done in apex to keep a good balance between the two inputs. 343 on the other hand is quite moronic for not doing the same.
You only have access to what you have access to and unfortunately, your recourses are limited. Limited to only one platform, console and limited to only one input at a time.
There is no “standard” on how to test this but to claim you did the test “exactly how you’re supposed to” is not accurate. There is no correct way, but there’s common sense. My testing is more of “real world” scenario. Which is better practice than what you supplied.
someone knows but yeah thats the discrepancy and that is why kbm is so inconsistent because controller players dont have those moments where players just matrix their way through some bullets while strafing. For kbm, the same cannot be said because of that lack of reticle stickiness. Either way the game is going to die and be controller centric. It is the reality of the game. This game will never grow on steam and will have the same fate as mcc. That is just my take on it from the beginning.
I’m not saying there’s a difference in ranges or a difference in input performance for bullet magnetism at those ranges.
I’m saying console gets a visual indicator of optimal range whereas PC does not. Red Reticle Range still exists on PC, but just without the visual indicator of a red reticle informing the player that bullet magnetism is at its peak.
Without knowing the optimal range, determining the optimal range is guesswork at worst and requires constant practice at best. Aim Assist still provides a better environment for shot placement, but the shot placement gap could be closer for PC players if they knew when bullet magnetism was strongest in the form of a visual indicator (red reticle).
Yes, as I showed in my video but within the same threshold controller will land more shots, which results in stronger bullet mag.
true i agree on this dude. Its definitely harder to predict especially when u whiff those stupid melees LMAOOOO. Hate those damn moments.
So you’re test is better and more accurate? How can you confidently say that with the absence of rrr on PC?
That would make the test harder to perform. If their’s no standard, then what’s the issue with my test? This is just splitting hairs.
to everyone who is complaining about the game. Kbm players should just leave honestly and it just gives an education to 343’s mistakes and idiocy to catering to controller players over kbm. They took their shot and failed miserably. There are way better games than halo infinite. Tarky is great!!
Yes, by a long shot. Mine was done side by side, one for one at the same time. How can you argue that?
Uh no. They shouldn’t do that. PC Aim Assist bugs out so much that a lot of us controller users on PC don’t get Aim Assist. Meanwhile, the console players I know all have Aim Assist that far exceeds what I’ve ever experienced on PC.
You clearly haven’t tested it out on the two releases to see just how stark of a difference it is.
Because my test show that’s irreverent. I aligned the crosshair from console/controller outside of the RRR range and placed the PC’s crosshair at the same range.
Have you had a chance to test what it feels like on PC with controller? I’d recommend it. Maybe it’d help us track down whatever it is that’s broken.
Well, my test does the same thing and I got different results from yours.
Whether it’s done side by side doesn’t matter.
well there is a fix to make it more consistent on pc. Run steam on big picture mode. I did that and found it too easy to shoot on controller and i main kbm every day now. Console players dont get the aim assist especially on the original xbox one
That “fix” doesn’t work for everyone.
We did not test the same, so getting different results than me holds no weight.
it does lol because everyone on steam uses that
It actually does. The community hasn’t agreed that either of our tests are legitimate or not.
If anything, this proves that this matter needs further testing to get an affirmative answer.
I think I’m right, for the record, but you could always test again to get the info correct.
It does not. Because I and my PC friends all tried it with no luck. Plus, the Halo subreddit has users who’ve reported the same experience, so…
Besides, I’ve played the game on consoles, the aim assist there was notably better than the couple of matches on PC where the aim assist actually worked for me.
i did fine on pc controller but i run an xbox one version and feels noticeably worse due to vertical sync low frame cap and input delay. Either way 343 needs to fix that incosistency.
