Ok be quiet. In halo the average kill/fight is CQC/mid range. Most of the time long range fights are unsuccessful because unless you’re a total noob, you don’t stand still for them to kill you and since you have shields you can’t pull it off majority of the time. Controller users are still dominating 24/7 especially in arena. No one cares about BTB just pointing that out now.
Technically precision aiming isn’t important in halo. Think about it. You only need to hit the head after shields are broken. Regardless if it’s head, chest, hands, feet, arms, legs etc, the damage is the same. If we were to compare this to say apex legends, then that game is far more rewarding precision. A guy who gets 2 or 3 headshots and maybe some body will win the fight. In halo you could aim for my head all you want; but I could aim at your legs then hit you in the head and I win the fight.
Simple solution - disable crossplay. Controller players don’t want to play against us and I sure as hell don’t want to play against them.
This may be true with controller, as you get plenty of help with aim assist and bullet mag but with KBM it’s a different story. Think about it.
Dude KBM getting the short end of the stick due to how this game plays really sucks, and I don’t want to have to learn how to use a controller just to be on par with the people using a controller. it feels like I’m always at a disadvantage against someone with a controller and it feels nearly impossible to keep my crosshair on them. that paired with the way the weapons are balanced just make the game unfun for me and I don’t want to play it anymore. and I’m not its back to mcc for me.
My point was the fact no matter where you shoot the damage is the same
See, that’s not a cure all though. At least in Dead by Daylight, that only turns it on so that other people who have also disabled Crossplay can play together. Given that Steam’s population is really low and I doubt the other store fronts have more players, that will seriously increase the time it takes for you to find a match.
Your hilariously misplaced sense of superiority is built on the game aiming for you. There’s nothing about Halo that makes it better on controller, and your 20+ years of console experience would mean jack if your aimbot crutch was disabled. I’m talking like even pros would get stomped and go so heavily negative every match without AA if they came up against even some random half decent pub KB/M player who’s not really into Halo.
Don’t get me wrong I was playing CE to Reach on Xbox back in the day, but I grew up and moved to a platform where you actually have to play the game yourself and not be a spectator. It was fine when console gamers were confined to their own space, but now we’re all forced to play together and it simply doesn’t work no matter what.
Who cares? Are we here for a contest? Wasn’t this thread originally here to discuss the possible solutions?
I see this thread constantly pop up when it should’ve died months ago.
Just imagine if this ever happened. This would be so hysterical.
dude why u hating controller players for no reason. They’re literally just playing the game and didn’t develop the game. Just because they’re using aim assist doesnt mean they are lacking any skill. Furthermore, if u were half decent on mnk there should be no issues for u hitting onyx on mnk crossplay. Im master 3 on aimlabs and i dont complain like you are bro. Just stop being so negative and pouring that negativity on controller players. Most controller players know that there is an imbalance between inputs and blaming them is going to get you nowhere. Just move on play something else because the devs refuse to acknowledge or address this issue. I have moved to apex and valorant and I feel so much better without having to deal with constant re-positioning and getting shot through walls. Just move on halo is dead and no mnk player should deal with it.
Don’t even bother trying to explain this to them it’s like communicating with a brick wall.
They are KBM elitist that think the whole industry needs to bend the knee to them, they have this elitist personality that cannot cope with the simple idea that they are not superior 100% of the time.
I mean I would pretty upset to if I spent thousands of dollars to lose to a controller player with 20 years of experience playing halo titles.
There is so much more at play here, blaming an input is just straight childish and immature. And I remember when crossplay first starting coming out years ago PC players were claiming how superior they are going to be to console……you realize we are handicapped to limited FOV and 100FPS at best……so aim assist really means nothing in the big picture.
The acceleration curves are dog water and this is hands down the clunkiest feeling halo I’ve ever played on both KBM and controller.
And guess what, I play controller most of the time and get dunked on by kbm players at distance and in close quarter cause they can spin around and melee so rapidly.
Threads like this are getting old, it’s non constructive and does not accomplish any sort of feedback towards a resolution as it divulges into name calling and skill bashing.
This games aiming acceleration curves and de sync is really bad and has been bad the entire time without resolve that’s where the real issue is
But hey I’ll leave this here just to pour gas on the fire lol

“KBM input is being shafted for seemingly, no reason?”
If only 343i would let us disable cross-play; problem solved…
Shhhh others in this thread don’t take kindly to common sense where simple problems only require simple solutions
Let’s not give up on mouse and keyboard community guys. Keep making threads (assuming you havent made one yet) and share your side of the story. As for me, I’ve stopped playing completely after realizing I’m forced to use an input I was forced to use for 20 years (controller.) I want something new and that’s mouse and keyboard for me personally. I love this game and miss it greatly but I simply won’t play it if aim assist is as strong as it is. I encourage other mouse and keyboard players to do the same even though the MnK community has all left already lol
Aimlabs is such a stupid program that doesn’t apply well to real games
120 fps, which is actually very good. After that you hardly notice a smoothness difference. If you got the X you’re fine
it did for me and pooping on controller kids was possible through it during my time on halo infinite.
I am mnk and im not an elitist. Dont generalise a community u dont know. I was in both. The fact is that mnk is clearly disadvantaged at all ranges shown by an accuracy plot of the top 100 mnk and controller. Controllers median was up to 15% higher than mnk, which suggests that there is something wrong. However, it doesnt give mnk players the right to dump the blame on controller players. Yes I can agree that there are limitations on console. But the real problem is controller PC because of those high frames with aim assist it makes it impossible to outgun them. This issue is not just exclusive to halo and was in fortnite, apex, Call of duty, etc. Like if ur getting dunked on mnk players that is a skill issue because if u go try it out its hardly ever the case that u would get dunked by mnk of the same elo (skill level). I was previously an onyx mnk player and its definitely harder up there but hopping on controller it felt so much easier and more sticky on PC. So there is a problem with controller aim assist being overtuned and possibly even too strong for balance. My solution is remove crossplay or reduce aim assist strength or add more mnk bullet mag or a combination of those previously mentioned. Like i get the struggle of both sides but this input war has got to stop. Blaming an input just because it has something or lacks something else doesnt make anyone a better player. First off grind the aim trainers or bots, then start beaming. However, without changes to the balance mnk will never be in competitive and Esports play. I can tell u right now its impossible being someone in masters 3 for aimlabs and previously was diamond in pc lobbies for apex. Mnk players should NEVER undermine and underestimate a controller player and controller players should never have an ego just because u think halo is a game made for ur thumbs. Both input communities are as toxic as each other from my years of gaming. Making silly excuses like “high fps, whole arm, aim assist, low input delay, higher FOV”. Just be quiet rewatch ur game VODs and learn from your mistakes. Smh some gamers are just lowest of the lows and it really shows now in this community.
I know I’m late but thanks for bringing this up. Everything you said is 100% true.
I been playing shooter games with M&K my entire life and I never had to strafe to correct my aim until I came to Halo.
I just wanna add something though, the strafing speed in Infinite is so fast compared to any other game out there even older Halos. Controller players are not affected by this because AA fixes the issue for them but it really throw the aim of any good M&K player, and that’s a HUGE disadvantage… its extremely difficult to lock on a target with the Mouse while Controller’s AA does most of the work, not mention bullet magnetism…
