KBM input is being shafted for seemingly, no reason?

Its likely as close as its ever going to get. Changes either way will break it further. Not sure why people are trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. Until there are advances in technology that provide better more accurate responses in controllers, this will always be an issue.

This is what they should of used the beta for, instead it was just a demo.

They did tweak AA on a few individual weapons out of the “beta”, but yeah, that was mostly demo and server scale testing - not a balancing pass. IMO, a touch more magnetism on M&K than exists currently and then let the change sit for a month or two, re-evaluate, see if the gap’s narrowed. That’d be how I’d approach it, because I’d rather touch magnetism than AA - at first anyway. If the hits are more consistent for M&K, it makes up for the more consistent/smoother hold on target controller gets during strafing and movement from the AA.

As you said, experience. You are right, its opinion as is all the MnK complaints overstating it. Most take little other factors into account, besides showing a video of players standing still.

Also, I am not the one trying to champion keeping cross play to have no input selection. The best solution is to provide input based selection, and still provide cross play to those who want to use it.

And what is your controller experience exactly? How many FPS’s do you play with controller. Id bet less then I play with MnK

It’s the best way to do one for one testing.

if 343i came on the boards and said “hey guys, we figured out to really balance the two inputs and our testing shows that we need to reduce the assistance controller gets by X amount. So we’re giving you guys an option to make this patch go live OR keep controller the way it is with an option of preferred input in all of matchmaking”. Honestly, what option would you pick? I’m pretty sure I already know.

Almost 20 years on XBL, you can just look at my profile on XBL and take a look for yourself. I have more time in Halo 2 and 3 than any other game I’ve ever played. PUBG on Xbox comes second.

Also note, my badge will say 16 years with XBL but that stopped counting when I joined game pass 3 years ago.

Sounds like similar times if thats the case, not sure why your profile would stop counting, mine hasnt. So you should easily understand the limitations of using controller vs MnK then, not sure why you would be discounting that.

Well first they would never say that, they just do stuff. If they felt there was really a disparity id like to test it first. That is what they should do, but never do. They should have test flights for insiders.

Im pretty confident any changes to aim assist would decimate the controller population and they know it. The likeliness of them changing this is very low. Making the game less fun for either sets of users makes no sense.

I am all for improvements, just not change for the sake of change.

Edit: Also, you make it seam like I want some advantage, that is the last thing I want. Id prefer input based matchmaking to keep everything even…I think I have been pretty clear on that.

Mine has been on 16 years the last 3-4 years. It stopped counting when I joined game pass.

I do understand controller, never once said otherwise. I also do know how strong aim assist is in Infinite and the advantage it has over KBM.

We will just have to disagree on this, which is OK.

Ha! Yeah, last thing I want to do is ruin the controller experience - hell, half of the crew I play with plays Halo on controller. It’s just that those of us who’ve been sticking to K&M have been having such a miserable experience that the whole group has decided to play other things so the whole group has a good time. Would love for it to be less lopsided in crossplay so we could have Infinite back in the rotation again, that’s really my only agenda.

i agree but the fact that some controller players think that kbm is being advantageous in this game is ridiculous especially with this ludicrous person thinking that is the case. Every single controller pro has said that kbm is simply not viable in its current state.

I think I just proved how easy controller is and how little you have to aim. I can also not wait to hear what if has to say, or maybe he’ll ignore it and look the other way,

I wanna see a KBM player use a controller, and tell me it’s easier. You’d be lying, but I want to see this.

but ive used it and got on first game a 57% accuracy and my second is 60%. Controller on halo is barely a game with skill. Why should it take more skill than kbm?
