Calling people morons isnt going to get you anywhere. They are different inputs, they shouldnt be paired with eachother, there is no happy medium here. Any changes to controller will decimate the viability, this is the least amount of aim assist any Halo has ever had.
This might be the first game that controller players were able to stand with MnK players, and MnK are frustrated. I get it, but there are advantages that MnK has, its not perfect obviously, thus why there shouldnt be input crossplay.

Trust me when I tell you most controller players arent happy with the aiming to begin with, I have found it better with time myself so not as big of a deal, but any aim assist change will destroy controller viability for most players (not all)
MnK players have advantages over controller, its just not good to have input crossplay IMO, thats no ones fault. i think they just need to add input based modes in ranked, so if you are all on controller/keyboard you can have a 4 man squad.
Solo/Duo already has it, why not full team ranked?

The fact remains that we ARE forced to play together for the vast majority of playlists. Even if we aren’t, mnk should be able to choose to play with their mates on xbox without being at such a disadvantage.
MnK might have minor advantages in a few fleeting situations but overall there is simply no comparison.
They need bringing closer together. Thats simply a fact. I should be able to play with my xbxo mates without being a complete liability due to AA/BM.
Why should I only have a fair chance in 1 tiny, playlist that you can only join in 2s? That’s ridiculous.
Decimating AA would, as you say, cause huge problems but some very minor tweaks (to something) need to be tested so that the two inputs are brought closer together.
I think that’s the thing that’s been lost in this conversation - nobody wants to nerf anything into the ground, just balance it out so that the playing field is leveled. I want to not be disadvantaged, and I want my buddy playing on Xbox to not be disadvantage. To be honest, crossplay is, for me, huge because my friend group is across many devices and inputs, not just on PC, and I want to be able to have everyone play together and for everyone to not have a crap time doing it.
I don’t see it causing huge problems. it’ll be the same for all controller inputs, it’s not a unique change just for one person. Think of it like a multi class race. You have class A (controller) with 600hp and class B (KBM) with 400hp. That’s a 50% difference but now they cut class A horsepower down to 500hp. Now it’s 25% difference, class A will still be faster, or still have an advantage for the most part but now the skill lies more with the person behind the wheel and not so much the power of the car.
Some people take “nerf” as they want to put their cars on the track with no engine. Big difference between nerfing something and completely turning off something.
Because its relevant to players who play Halo maybe… It shows what they tried to do to make things even between MnK and controller.
There can be both you know, it doesnt have to be one or the other. If you want to play with your friends, thats OK, play cross play with no input restrictions, but dont force others into an unenviable situation because you feel like its not fair. A change in aim assist will break viability for controller, and thats why they likely wont do it.
Instead break down the inputs for ranked
Solo/Duo - has input based selection already
Team - MnK
Team - Controller
Team - Crossplay
A change in AA or bullet magnetism will not break viability for controller. Disabling them, yes, that would break viability. Tweaking the values? No, that won’t break it. If you don’t want to play with M&K if/when they balance it, why don’t you just play in a controller only playlist at that time? Let the rest of us have a balanced crossplay experience.

AA doesnt need a nerf, they need to seperate the inputs. I supposed they could limit the responsiveness of what a mouse and keyboard can do for movement while they adjust AA, sound good?
It would feel very unnatural, there will be no perfect solution, it will lean one way or the other. There is so little aim assist already.
Its relevant. What are you comparing that there is a lot of aim assist to? Not previous Halos, not other FPS’s, so what. Will you base it on high level movement, or just standing still. All videos ive seen have little effort put into them.
Its funny that MnK players cant accept having seperate queues for inputs. Not sure why thats not a good option.
It is NOT relevant. I’m not comparing it to any other game, nor have I ever. I’m simply pointing out the facts, that there is indeed aim assist and it is pretty damn strong. There’s also a few people here that believe and claim there is no aim assist. There’s also people that believe and claim that aim assist on PC is miles stronger than console, which is false.
It’s very hard to 100% balance controller vs KBM, but whatever it is 343i had in mind is far from being even remotely close to attempting to balance them.
Yeah, it’s definitely hard to 100% balance it, but it needs to be closer to balanced than it currently is. I figure this is something that will need to be tweaked in small increments until it’s in a “close enough” place.
