When i saw Kat die when running out of the ONI building and she got shot by one needle rifle to the head honestly worst death ever and was the sad music neccesary i mean the troll song should have been playing. I was laughing so hard when i saw her die but for all the other noble teams deaths i never laughed except carter I found that one funny as well.
-Yoink-. RIP Kat
gtho
Your about one year too late and what makes you think anyone cares how you reacted when Kat died?

IKR? She is just running along, full sheilds, then gets hit with a single needle: DEAD.
wtf?
It was a very poorly planned death. they easily could have come up with a more creative way of killing her.
Frigid flashback, friend.

Not that anybody else in noble team had a better one.
Kat’s demise demonstrates that conflict is neither an heroic or dramatic endeavour. Often, circumstance and fate may conspire to produce wholly underwhelming outcomes. The notion that Kat could be dispatched by a single shot demonstrates the futility of war, and the utter hopelessness of the situation facing the defenders of Reach. Her death was intended to be both shocking and unanticipated; a mandate that is aptly satisfied. As the player, one shares Noble Six’s notion of helplessness, in so sudden an occurrence.
Regarding the practicalities of Kat’s death, her shields were not operable at the time of the needle striking her. From my understanding, once a Spartan removes their helmet, the Mjolnir shielding technology no longer functions. Even following the replacement of the helmet, the shield must be given ample time to ‘regenerate’. Evidently, Kat’s armour had not been given sufficient time to complete this process.

Never really felt that.
Wasn’t until “Lone wolf” did I really feel “helpless” and then again…

She didn’t have any shields, The glassing cause an EMP which removed them and watch in the cutscene when she puts on her helmet it doesn’t seal you can see her skin.
death isnt funny I almost cried when I saw her die
Lol kat didn’t have her sheilds up thats why one shot killed her.
Dude i think Carter’s was sad even though Chief blew up around 5 scarabs in Halo 3 but is was still sad since he sucided to save Six and Emile like Dom in Gears 3
The guy above me, it’s people like you who dont deserve to have a brain.
I think that Kat’s death was the most realistic. one second your there running for your life and 1 bullet it all it takes to end that.
as for “1 bullet passes sheild” emp blasts destroy the shields. don’t belive me, stand next to someone using AL and your shield will disappear when they come out. after that its just 1 headshot to kill you anyway. why do you think a story spartan character would be any different.
Honestly I’ve always found these threads stupid. emp, takes out shield, 1 head shot. kills you in MM, same with story. >_> its simple as that.
With her driving skills and shooting skills she deserved to die

It caught me off guard, but i somewhat expected something to happen since i was playing Co-op with a friend during those missions and he would hint that something was coming up. It sucks that any character has to die, and i think at that point you started to get the feeling that the odds were stacking up against Noble Team, an Ominous feeling i suppose, of things to come. As much as i didnt like her dying, i did like the cutscene afterwards where they were all waiting to be picked up. It’s one of my favorite in the game
Noble 6 got to have a little chat with Kat in the elevator, you can already see something bad’s gonna go down. Bungie’s not gonna let us bond a bit with a character unless they were gonna kill it off.
It was also a pretty cheap death IMO.
