Kat got your tongue? (Firefight Voices: Where'd they go?)

Last few days, I’ve been playing Firefight Matchmaking with my buddy a lot lately.

Maybe five games in we realized something: Our characters weren’t talking. We played another game, and again, our characters didn’t talk.

We decided to do Firefight from the menu, and our voices did work. Went back to Matchmaking, and they did not.

The voices also seem to work on Score Attack, but they just haven’t worked at all in Firefight Limited, and that’s after the TU.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Just a slight tap. Not a bump, but a tap.

>_<

Did you have music playing?

Make sure your voice is equipped.

I never have music playing in Firefight (I can hear the Grunts / Jackals / Brutes / Elites talking, so that’s out of the question)

And yes, the voice is equipped, because I can hear Carter’s distinctive “gulp” grunt he does when he’-Yoink!- by plasma. He just never says anything.

I have noticed this for awhile. I hardly here my firefight voice. I blame the Infamous Reach sore throat.

I just recently noticed this. When did you start noticing it?

It’s worked for me in every Firefight playlist until just recently. Now it’s only Score Attack and local.

Poor Carter’s got a soar throat. :frowning:

Early august for me. I don’t really play much FF so its not that big of a deal.

It’s a pretty big deal for me, considering I spent 270,000 credits on voices, and a countless number of credits on armor permutations to match the voices. >_>

See, if you just went with the silent assassin six, you wouldn’t have this problem.

I kinda would, because Six at least laughs now and then like he’s a government sanctioned sociopath.

Maybe he likes it that way.

I haven’t experienced this, however I rarely play anything firefight related outside of Score Attack. I have Cortana’s voice equipped, and she’s really annoying, so when I start the game she always says her punchlines and I sit there and go “-Yoink!-! I forgot to change my firefight voice again!”

Carter at least has awesome ones like “Strike first, strike hard: No mercy,” “Spartans never die, but they kill just fine,” “Keep pouring it on, Spartans!,” “Shut them down, Noble!,” and “Welcome to Noble Team.”

Only thing I can think of is that it could be a side effect of playing with people who have no hard drive. I was wondering how game modes that required cache space to work online were suddenly going to work without HDD’s with just a patch and maybe this is it.

Huh.

Good point.

sometimes it randomly ‘re-equips’ noble six’s voice

> sometimes it randomly ‘re-equips’ noble six’s voice

Never happened to me, and as I said, Carter’s distinctive “gulp” grunt for being shot is still there.
