I had an interesting thought: What if CTN 0452-0 is in fact Kalmiya. We know she was active in service way longer than AI’s usually so I was thinking maybe she was just deactivated and now as her sister (Cortana) has gone rogue Halsey has re-activated Kalmiya. After all she is basically original Cortana.
What do you guys think about this?
I’m pretty sure Halsey activated Kalmiya’s fail-safe protocol during the fall of Reach, so she’s gone. It’s more likely that Halsey would create a new AI (Cortana model or otherwise) rather than reuse an old prototype.

Ya, a new cortana model makes more sense given Halsey had a couple scans of her Brain. Do I want a second? ehh not really but I also wont get upset if there is

This is unlikely since an AI can live only 7 years. But it can be another new Cortana model or another AI.

According to lore reports, they all survived the Fall of Reach after ONI more or less raided her apartment/her lab, and pretty much took everything. Including the clones she made of herself. This is also how we got access to Halsey’s book at all, and the statue of Noble team in the Legendary edition of the game. Lore wise, they’re both real things in the Halo universe.
Funny enough, ONI already knew about these clones that Halsey made, they knew from the very beginning of the entire operation. How did they know? Halsey needed a few “trusted” individuals in order to complete the process to make Cortana at all.
Because of events like these + the Spartan II program and all the other heavily illegal things she has done, it’s why she ended herself up in prison, which explains the events of both Halo 4, and 5 with her being in hand cuffs and more.
The question remains if ONI decided to keep the flash clones, maintain them, and keep them well preserved. Halsey did place them in cryo so maintenance wouldn’t need much besides the occasional checkup to make sure the cryo tubes are working correctly. Judging from a few teasers we’ve seen in Halo Infinite, this is extremely likely exactly what happened.

Way to bum,p a super old thread lol. This thread was before shadows of reach came out. We now know the Halsey’s extra brain clones theory is true since Blue team retrieved them from Reach.
