K/D

I may not be the best at any Halo MP (Check Out My Clips), but I have always taken a little pride knowing that my average K/D has been positive other than negative. When you play, are you focused on your K/D, or do you just run and gun because you’re living in the moment?

the win is more important then your k/d

I always run and gun in games. Usually my kd hovers a little bit under a 1.0 but it depends on the game.

I was concerned about my K/D Ratio when I first learnt what it meant but now I just don’t care anymore and usually do decent in games so I’m just focusing on the W

I always aim to have a K/D ratio and NOT a D/K ratio :stuck_out_tongue: - I play to Win the game and help my team… a positive K/D usually helps

Well in team slayer they’re kinda related

Depends on my mood and who I’m playing with. I’ll get all sweaty sometimes with my brother, but when it’s me and my kid split screen, I’m chill. I’m sure ppl get pissed seeing his score, but it’s all about fun at the end of the day. Quite hilarious actually, earlier today he kept trying to betray me on coop Halo CE. Had to show him what’s up and drop the bag after. Man, I really wish Infinite was dropping with coop.

i focus on the win but most importantly i focus on staying alive because that allows more opportunities to help my team out. If you can master not dying as much then your K/D will go up naturally.

Of course depending on the match and game type but overall I’m not sensitive to stats like K/D. For objectives I don’t mind being the meat shield to protect the flag or carry the ball. For slayer I’m mainly a flanker which is high risk - high reward, disrupting the enemies to give my team an engaging advantage or secure power weapons while trying to stay around a neutral to positive K/D. In ranked that’s all adaptable to the match and the team of course =)

Some of my boys are pretty stats drunk with every match though even reflecting on KD after OBJ or warzone which I find rather silly. Just play the game the way you like to play and try to win while doing it. And never pass up a shot on driving around with buddies in a hog, ROADTRIP!

Focusing on KD mid match is more trouble than it’s worth. I take combat encounter into mind, how to win it. Then move on to the next target.

KD is a post match thing for me. I’ll look at it, see if I did well or not and how I need to adjust next match to do better.
Slayer is more about staying alive than it is kills.
Objective modes are more about map control, coordination & pushing the enemy base at the right time more than kills.

Dont get me wrong, I’ve had matches were I’ve had 40+ kills in KOTH but also some of the highest Hill time on my team too.
As long as you’re trying to actively succeed on completing the games objective wether that be staying alive in slayer or capping a flag in CTF etc, that’s all that matters.

pretty much run…like everywhere, altough i do take pride when my performance is positive

I hate k/d and win loss stats, prefer my games to have none of that to be honest. Generally I don’t look at my own stats for games if I can avoid it and would never play in a way to try and pad them.

Used to be very hot on winning every game and putting my all into making that happen and I’m still competitive but I’m much more relaxed now in games if I think it’s an uphill struggle in a social game, I’ll just have fun with it. Have had way more fun playing big team my way, rather than the optimal way. I’ll ride mongooses and go for splatters, kill with different weapons and try silly things, it’s made Halo a lot more fun again. Stuff like that. I only play seriously now if there are players I don’t like so I’ll put my tryhard pants on to silence trash talkers or people spawn killing my teammates.

People used to take a dump on me for my K/D in the past, but that’s CoD/sweaty stuff that I don’t pay attention to anymore. I know I’m decent enough at the game and I’m more focused on trying to just have fun.
