K/D stats removed from Objective game types?

If so, then that would be the greatest move I’ve seen yet for Halo 4. Been watching a lot of the PAX footage and I notice that in all the CTF matches, they are simply getting points for various tasks (flag capture being by far the largest amount). But even in the post game screen, I see no mention of K/D.

I can only HOPE this is the way for ALL objective game types in Halo 4. Can anyone confirm or is this a variation of CTF like “Infinity Slayer”??

I relly hope they take K/D off team objective.

Instead of removing KD from OBJ why not just have two seperate stats?

Slayer KD

Objective KD

Playlist specific K/D has always been in Halo. The point really is that if K/D is in an objective game AT ALL - then you’ll have people that will alter their play to make it high.

If it’s removed completely, then the total focus is on the game at hand as it won’t matter if you kill 100 people in a match or 0. It’s all about winning and conquering the objective…which is how it should be.

Otherwise, go play team slayer.

This would actually be really good, It would make people focus on the objective rather than boost their k/d.

So true.

That would be stupid. If I did well, I want to know what my Kills, Deaths, and assist were. This game is turning out to be little league soccer where all the mom’s turn their boys into complete -Yoink!- Because “EVERYBODY WINS!” What happened to the desire to improve ones self at something they enjoy? Some people won’t even bother with the objective since their job is to kill as many people as possible since the objective player is doing his job. So lame.

That wouldn’t be true if the reward for winning was more gratifying than the reward of a high KD.

I hope that is how it stays!

It’s called “OBJECTIVE” for a reason!
I have been ranting to my friends for so long about how K/D shouldn’t be shown for objective game types!

Ummm… Because it’s an objective game mode your kills, assists and deaths don’t matter… All that matters is how many flag captures and/or flag capture assists you got. You did well when you assisted in flag capture and not well when you have little flag caps and/or assist. Play slayer if you want to brag about your K/D.

And what the hell you mean with that?

I’m sorry but that might be the dumbest thing I’ve read in a long time. I love how you say the game is little league…when you haven’t played it. And you sound suspiciously like someone who loves to pad their stats via objective game types.

The point of objective games is to work together to complete the objective. It matters not if you get a ton of kills and assists. ANYONE can do that in objective game modes as you’re killing people who aren’t focused on killing you back a percentage of the time.

Don’t you hate when you play on a BTB map in Halo Reach and you’re going against a party and they spawn trap you because that makes their K/D and even BPR higher? If they make it so the winning team gets quite a bit more experience than the loosing team, then how is that being a -Yoink!- and saying everyone wins? It obviously isn’t if you have any sense at all.

Everything you say is incorrect. I pull the objective because usually I’m the objective player on my team. Anybody with half a brain that plays Halo will tell you slaying the other team before pulling the objective is the most important part. If you just run in and try to blindly run the flag, you’re not going to cap it. You have to at least have 3 of 4 opponents dead in order to have a smooth rout for your objective player to run the said objective. If people on the other team are failing to kill us before running the flag, then they don’t know how to play obviously.

Can’t drop the flag? A waypoint over the objective players head at all times? Taking K/D out of objective? Yeah. That’s pretty much there for giving bad players a chance and holding their hands.

It isn’t that your K/D should be affected by Obj. gametypes, it’s just that all people do is get kills. And in Halo 4 experience actually gives you perks and stuff. So I don’t think they’re going to let you do that.

I want that. I want that so bad. No K/D, please, it ruins team games.

I love this idea

Yes I don’t know how to play - only been playing since 2001.

First, I haven’t said anything about HOW to capture a flag so saying I’m wrong makes no sense. All I said was that the focus should be on the objective. What you described is HOW to play CTF which is fine. So tell me exactly, how would removing K/D change your description? Why would you play differently than what you described based on statistics? I’ll wait…

Personally I’m a big follower of the ‘only make your stats available to yourself’ ideology. I feel like it would solve a lot of these superiority/inferiority problems. Post game stats need to keep Kills/Deaths/Assists regardless of it being an objective game or a slayer game.

I’m not usually one to say things like this, but I can’t resist this time.

People who are concerned for their K/D in objective games, or are against your stats being affected by objective games, like this post suggests, then maybe you need to work on your K/D, because I think your stats from every game type should be recorded, because it’s all in the same game.

In other words, this post is pointless, because you suck.

I meant that in the friendliest joking manner possible
