What do you consider a decent K/D? I know, I know, stupid question, especially for Halo, where points/wins > kills, but what is your K/D?
Mine is currently 1.13.
last time i checked mine was almost 2. But it probably went down a little considering i started going for assassinations with AC today. But i don’t care about k/d but if you want to know how i feel as long as you go positive/help win the objective your a good player in my book.
I consider anything around 1.3, 1.4 is decent, 1.5, 1.6 is good.
I’m at 1.95 overall, 2.0 in slayer, but If the game calls for me to die in order to touch the flag to prevent it from resetting, I do it. I play to win, not for K/D.
There isn’t one really mine is currently 2.46 i think might be slightly higher not sure lol. Really a decent K/D tho is only 1.0 because that means that you playing against equally skilled players to you and this is what a perfect match would be people just like to brag and really K/D doesn’t mean a lot just because it’s high you’re not necessarily great at the game anyone could do it just follow someone take there kill then run and hide for the rest of game or other cheap tactics.
I play to win and this usually leads in total destruction. After a good 40+ matches i’m at a 3.15 k/d. I don’t expect it to drop to much with the way this multiplayer is designed (all other halos I had a 2.0+ so yeah). I’ve already faced some talented foes but i’ve always been good at staying alive. Halo 4 gives me more options for survival which is great.
I really don’t care about k/d because it will maintain itself. I don’t have to go out of my way and worry or think about it when I play. I simply kill everything that isn’t my team’s color over and over until the game ends.
Since I’m a competitive person, 3.0+ is good to “me”.
I currently have 5.74 K/D.
Mines 1.5, Though anything around 1.2 is decent as compared to other games like COD you play for the win, and in modes like CTF/KOTH that might mean sacrifice.
Tbh over 1.0 is absolutely aceptable. Thats why i liked the 1-50 system you played people of equal skill all the time and that was a good show of skill. In halo 2 i had a KD of 0.94 but was a level 37 in team slayer (which was extremely high without cheating) and in halo 3 my KD was around 1.05 and i was 46.
KD is a bad representive in skill in halo 4 imo, you could camp and not support the team for a win. Or you could be matching people much worse than yourself. (for example this morning in Regicide i went 30-6 twice in a row). I think the hidden trueskill is loose.
A high KD just means you’re not playing people your own skill level.

i find that a 1.0 K/D is “barely” pulling your weight.
i think 2.0 is great number to shoot for, because that means in a slayer match you are causing your team to win and anything more than 2.0 is just pure gravy and that means that you are carrying your weight and possibly others.
Personally, K/D means nothing, as long as you have fun playing the game!

my total OVERALL k/d is 3.15 …
my total games is 40 according to my in-game service record.
The stats you saw were just the most played game type which was slayer. Not all of my games and game types combined are shown for that. I can see my overall k/d though.
Since the feel of this game is more like Halo 3, I’d say a 1.0
K/D doesn’t matter, winning does if you are playing competitively.
K/D isn’t a good indication of how good a player of Halo you are, or any other FPS, for that matter. K/D doesn’t measure how much of a team player you are.
Last time I checked, my K/D was around 8.66… but then my deaths are higher than my kills, so I’m thinking maybe it was actually 0.86. I just tried to check again, but my stats are blank on here for some reason. Though, they didn’t show my stats from launch day because of the server problems. I hope they’re not lost, because I’m yet to see them.
Mine always sits around 1. I think 1+ is fine, as long as it’s not negative. There’s so much more to Halo than a high K/D. You can capture the flag 3 times and get no kills and your as useful as the guy with 20 kills and 2 deaths.

How do you see other peoples k/d, whenever I check peoples service record on here it just gives games played etc?

Waypoint stats are not reliable. Mine is blank, but I’ve played quite a few games. Even before it cleared, the stats weren’t accurate because of the server errors on launch day. Stop calling people out because you’re going on unreliable stats
