Just wondering why no classic maps!

Why don’t have any of the Classic maps that made Halo so damn popular?

Example:
Bloodgulch, Last Resort ( Zanzibar ), Battle Creek, Lockout, Death Island, Sidewinder, Gephyrophobia, and Danger Canyon. Just to name a few!

It would be really awesome to see these classic maps remade in Halo Infinite! I think The grafix would be awesome! :fist_right: :fist_left:

Maps have to be built around grapple, thruster, sprint, etc

Sprint maybe as it’s defaulted, but the other equipment pieces don’t necessarily have to have a guaranteed place within the map’s sandbox.

I don’t think sprint is severe enough to really matter with most maps. I mean, damn, some of these CE, 3, and Reach maps were enormous. I’d kill to shave off a second or two to get across Blood Gulch without being sniped from the enemy base. It’s not a deal breaker. As for the other equipment, meh, we had sprint and equipment in Halo Online (Halo 3 basically), Halo Reach, and the CE Anniversary maps worked perfectly fine with equipment like sprint and jetpacks.

Most of these maps need no changes at all. Combat will simply evolve around different equipment, same map. You’ll just get the opportunity to pull off stunts and shortcuts you never could before, and grapple or thrust to areas a normal jump without clamber previously couldn’t reach. Now in Zanzibar, I could clamber the bridge windows between the beach and base, making the matches new and fresh with more opportunities to evolve your strategy. Maps don’t need to be changed. Bungie did a fantastic job with them as they already are.

All the maps have plenty of options for this IMO.
Grapple Shot is used for not only vertical ascent, but also rapid movement by grappling to the ground ahead of you to quickly close the gap at a much further distance than the Thruster Pack.
The Thruster can be useful in allowing for wider jumps and of course evasive maneuvers.
And unlike in previous games, Sprint barely increases player speed.

I would argue that all maps from the past would be viable… save for tight maps like Chiron TL-34 or Rat Race, as they would not work well with grapples or thrusters.

And if 343 refuses to give us the goodies, I would argue that we will see them all made by the fans in Forge.

343 claims they want to port every map from past Halo games, but we’re 117% more likely to port them all ourselves in Forge before they even plan to plan a roadmap to plan for map planning plans. Fan map makers also will make sure the maps stay unruined and as close to the originals as possible
